For clarification: I found plenty of auger bits, but none of them have a solid cone center as seen on the fictitious things I posted on screen. That’s specifically what I’m looking for.
  • Last time I was this early, the wild imaginary west was just an alligator, a steam boat, and a mine building

The crystals might not be special but they could be essential in creating lenses for scopes, extremely rare laser rifles, reinforced windows, and of course, decorations for the wealthy.
  • @chris_dietz
As a subterranean mole man, I can confidently say you got the big drill pretty much perfect.
  • @darklordofsword
The term youre looking for for the giant drill is either an Auger bit or an Archimedes Screw.
  • This is why I love Sundays. Boylei in the morning and MrBallen at night.
  • @officialconor
as an exploration geologist, i feel qualified to say we rarely use something as extravagant as a big screw. most mobile mining rigs like this use something called Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling

Man Caleb, what a walk down memory lane there at the end. That recap was deserving of its own video for sure. This has been an incredible journey that you have taken us all on and I think that I speak for most of us here by saying thank you for sharing it with us. There is something special about what you have created and I for one cannot wait to see what the future holds for the Wild Imaginary West. Onward!
  • @OntheLamb
Next old west scene should include a giant tree eating mouse! Love this universe!
  • @Prah123
That tree destroying mouse sounds like a topic for the next diorama

The crystals are extracted and used for rock bits, which are more efficient at cutting through rock than the auger. Then there's also that scientist from the East who needs transparent crystals as she is experimenting with materials for lenses suitable to transmit Light Amplified by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It's a risky but rich business. Superb diorama, this really tells a story.
  • At this point, the Wild Imaginary West would be an awesome stop motion movie!! Great stuff!
  • @fardicus0004
That final montage of your Wild Imaginary West builds was fantastic.
  • @SturleyArt
I LOVE the imaginary wild west series. More please.
  • @Unhinged29
9:46 that sounds like an idea for a future diorama... perhaps some giant beaver instead of a mouse though.
  • @qalak7782
It was so remarkable and simultaneously precious to see how many dioramas have been done in this Imaginary West. The music for the montage just felt sweet and homey. I've loved watching all of these and I get so excited for every new addition. Thank you for all your hard work, Boylei, and especially for sharing it with us 🙂
  • @wallabaatar
I think you need to do a whole series of builds titled, “Precious Imaginary Moments”😂 Love this video so much, and thanks for scrolling through all those previous builds. Think I’ll go back and watch a few right now
  • I've been here since the first WIW vid - and looking at that showreel at the end, it's only now I realise it's been quite the ride, hasn't it? Looking at the simpler, earlier builds compared to the stuff we're seeing now. It's been a fantastic ride, and I'm looking forwards to seeing what the next stop is.
  • Your dioramas need to be in an art gallery or something....these are really great works of art straight from your imagination. What a talent! Your blessed man... keep it up! I always look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
  • @jaxorion6101
Love seeing so many people already see this only 3 minutes after it comes out. Keep up the great work!
