I have my sincere respect to the people out there who don't smoke or vape at all.

Quitting smoking is very easy, I’ve done it hundreds of times. (Edit: It’s a Mark Twain quote and I wrote it here as a joke. For those who are struggling to quit I understand your struggle and those who have successfully quit, I admire your resolve and congratulate you.)

I quit smoking and moved to vaping. My breathing got better after a couple of months. I'm still vaping but I'm trying to stop that too. It's hard, but I know I can do it.

I smoked for years then went on to vaping, I have brought the nicotine down as low as possible & I’m about to finish with nicotine gum. Wish me luck! 🤞🏻
  • I went onto vaping, reduced my nicotine, BROKE MY DAMN VAPE, and then tried to order a new one, saw it wouldn't arrive in 3 weeks (it was just before covid) and so I just quit. 5 years next May.

I used vaping to help stop smoking and eventually stopped vaping. So glad I don't do either now. My lungs are fkn loving it.

This doctor is so smart and I like it how articulate he is at explaining things without using medical jargon.

I wish doctors would actually take the time to explain why they don't want to operate on you if you're a smoker. This doctor explains it perfectly. I know so many people who smoke that needed surgery, but got angry when the surgeon said they wouldn't operate on them. They took it as an insult because they didn't understand the problems smoking can cause during, & after surgery. Like this doc said- it can cause issues with healing, & also the anesthesia process. They just thought their doctors were putting them down for being smokers. Many people just don't understand how many of our body systems work, so they think "They're just taking out my gallbladder, not operating on my lungs... why does it matter?". Full explanation is needed for sure.
  • i switched from cigarettes to a vape, and i’m slowly decreasing my nic intake. it’s slow going but i finally got down to 2.5% this week and i’m so fucking proud of myself and can’t wait until i can stop with this shit altogether.

I was a smoker for about 5-6 years. I then switched to vaping just to help me kick the habit of nicotine. I've now stopped vaping
  • @Wineblood
The biggest thing I noticed when going from cigs to vapes is that you can just vape nonstop.
  • @Pfromm007
The only sure way to quit smoking or vaping is to first eliminate the sources of stress and suffering that cause you to smoke or vape in the first place.
  • @DrProfessorMD
I quit smoking cold turkey 2 years ago. I smoked for 25 years. Best decision of my life. Good luck to anyone else trying to quit.

Thank you so much for giving a straight answer. I'm in medical school and no one really has explained it this well. I stopped smoking cigarettes in favor of vaping and I've noticed that my overall nicotine consumption has been reduced by roughly 50%, so I think for people addicted to cigarettes it can be a good alternative. (As long as you don't chief that vape!)

I have my sincere respect for the people out there who have done em and then recovered from it's addiction. You are stronger than people who have no idea about the experience.
  • Love that dude every video I see he’s thinking about it and then delivers.

As someone who smoked for over 20 years then picked up vaping to put down the cigarette. I can say within a month or so of only vaping I started feeling like I could breath better, had more energy, slept better and could smell again. Now 4 years later I've never regretted vaping to stop smoking. I feel so much better since quitting smoking and I'm working to completely stop vaping too.

Considering I come from a country where the majority of the population smokes, and have had both my parents smoke at one point in their lives, I have vowed to never smoke, and have only taken one puff (which was terrible and burned my throat). DON'T SMOKE. It won't bring you any benefits.

23 here. I quit my habit of smoking outside and vaping inside after leaving the army at 21. So that would mean I am soon 3 years clean. I also quit snus just over a year ago and have lowered my alcohol intake. I am happy for myself and I hope to bring inspiration to all the young people reading this. I feel great and can go even harder at the gym. Peace everyone.

Respect to all the people who are trying to quit, any addiction! I know it isn't easy... Sending you love and strength!
