So basically he still gained exp when he lost, so he fought way above his level so he'd learn quicker despite losing lol
  • I just realized something: "if you lose your sword, use your fists! If you lose your fists, use you teeth!" Poseidon did the same thing during his final moments. Kojiro cut his hand off, so Poseidon used the hand he had left to crush the hand gripping his trident and then that one got cut off too. Then poseidon used his mouth to hold his weapon. Didn't notice that till now.

due to sheer hardwork he was the greatest rival of Miyamoto Musashi the most talented swordsman to ever live.
  • I know its so simple but the worlds greatest loser being humanities first victory is legit the embodiment of why I love ROR so much.
  • You can't win unless you learn how to lose. — Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
  • It's kinda funny to me that in both Fate/Stay Night and Record of Ragnarok they made the artistic decision to make Sasaki just . . . the prettiest of men. Like, was that part of the story?
  • Sasaki kojiri really take “task failed succesfully” to the whole new level
  • Fun Fact : This Story is real. 1612 at morning on the 13th April at Ganryu-Island Sasaki Kojirou and Miyamoto Musashi fought to Death. At the end Sasaki died and Miyamoto won. You can also read the Manga Vagabond. Its about the whole life of Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojirou. Its Art is considered one of the greatest in all of Manga´s. I really liked it or better said LOVED it. would REALLY recommend reading it if you are interested in this Story
  • Dude wasn't even a loser...he just lose a lot of fights but he literally is the one who wants to fight...
  • @exudeku
Ah, Kojiro He is the Savior of France, the Regend, the Wyvernslayer, The Masked Man
  • Kind of annoying to keep seeing Kojiro portrayed as a loser. In real life Kojiro never lost a fight...till his last one of course! If you are a swordsman that is pretty much how they all go, but Kojiro was rather famous and even Musashi admitted Kojiro was a better swordsman, but Musashi won through strategy, which included being an ass and psyching out his opponent first. Which by the way is a pretty effective way to win a fight. If you can win the mental battle before the fight begins, your opponent will lose before he can even do anything.

I like this because it helps throw down what modern society believes about losing. In this day and age losing, or rather failing to be more precise, is seen as a detriment and if you do so you're useless. Kojiro fought and lost, failed, over and over again but what does he do? Does he let it get him down? No he learns from his losses and becomes stronger and stronger not even letting death stop him from growing. Losing is not a bad thing, you will lose in life success is never guaranteed, you have to work in order to win. Kojiro knows this but he was content on losing because he is humble and does not care about winning.
  • Really sad a character that has a backstory this amazing was used in a manga where he has one fight, still love RoR, but a character like this would be dope af in a battle manga
  • the world's greatest loser turned out the world's greatest victor. truly poetic.
  • After reading Vagabond its so weird to hear "Not once in his life did Kojiro Sasaki win a fight"
  • Brings another meaning to: "You're 100 years to early to beat me"
