  • The idea to have smaller updates but more frequently throughout a year could be better for the health of the game. Adding content sooner that’s ready will bring people to play Minecraft rather than delay features for over a year at a time.

8:10 It's extremely unlikely that it would've come with the rascal. Also, having loot improve with time would encourage afking in a world constantly. Maybe it could be based on advancements?
  • @LandonEmma
BTW, the rascal was never said to give you a backpack, so please, just vote what they tell you trust me, I made a bad decision of making up what they may do by adding the glow squid and regret voting for it.
  • The most we can do is pray that the updates become more significant and have more of an impact.

i think that a "quality of life update" could be good, it would include inventory, parity, and improving existing features based on feedback from the MC community...
  • Player based chest gen would result in players not opening any chests till they reach the end game, because they would fear wasting precious items It should be so that chest that are closer to spawn have more common items compared to chests generated farther away from spawn, thus you have an extra motive to explore far away lands
  • @NabbyLloyd
"well uhmmm they can't do a QoL update because it doesn't add anything new" they could literally just bundle it with a few extra items. seriously, the 1.15 update was 99% bug fixes with the only mechanics being added are bees, they could definitely do it again

Something that isn’t really discussed is that the smithing table has 1 use. It would be really cool if you could add other items to modify your items, as there are attributes already in the game! Or maybe using different items added in the future (like enderite?).

Another thing for Bedrock that basically no one mentions/ knows about is that when holding space bar while wearing an elytra (in creative) you will be pushed upwards. It is very hard to explain but just try it yourself, trust me.
  • @SemiHypercube
Let's just hope they listen to the community and add features like this to 1.20 because there's only been one snapshot so far
  • I don't think judging the update now is very wise, because at the moment we don't know what the update will be. I understand many find disapointing that we don't know the plans for the update but I am sure many more things will be included in the update apart from those anounced given that all the anounced items were in the first snapshot.
  • You do know that Mojang stated the update DOES have a theme? Just no name. Mojang also stated that they redstone is exept from full parity. Yeah, moveble hoppers would be great, but the fundamental difference between Bedrock and Java is update order, and that would be hard to implement in Bedrock, because computer stuff I don't understand (I think).
  • I think the Bundle is a fine item. It helps when you have a bunch of random items, like a diamond, bunch of diorite, a Golden Apple, mushrooms. I think the Bundle is fine as is.
  • 8:13 Whilst yes, the Rascal could have given us Backpacks as a reward, that’s the key word: COULD. There was no guarantee that the Rascal would’ve been anything further than just an enchanted Iron Pickaxe, and that being the end of it’s functionality. It COULD have been a full on companion like a Wolf, sharing inventory and potentially assisting in Mining or Combat. But, that’s not what we saw. So, going by the logic of “What we see is what we get”, Mojang EXPLICITLY states that there is more coming alongside the Sniffer, primarily in the form of new Seeds and Plants. On a raw, objective level, the Sniffer presented more ON THE TABLE than the Rascal or Tuff Golem.
  • They never said the Rascal would drop his backpack. I think it's pretty good that what happened with Glowsquid didn't repeat again, players thinking the mob would have some ability or drop it just didn't had
  • @garyk3943
I honestly could care less about an end update, we spend over 95% of our time in the over world. Why not make the over world run smoother and look better. I love that they are adding new features that use old features. I do feel like bamboo farming will be very op now though.
  • I heard a theory that the theme of the update is revealed by looking at Agnes' survival world, where she likes to write lore, spread clues all over the world and show it to whoever visits it. And that the update is meant to make what she calls "telling your own story" easier. Signs to mark places, bookshelves with story books, camels for the owner of the world to show it to another player, and so on. In conclusion, 1.20 is the "tell your own story" update.

You have to remember that so far they've only shown (and added to the snapshot) features that are 100% complete
