Rule no 1 with reluctant doggo swimmers = never force them. You and his brothers did exactly the right thing. You showed him by example, gave him space to observe and let him figure it out himself. He has less chance of having any hangups now. Don't worry about next summer, he'll definitely remember. Have fun π

My childhood Goldie saw the sea and just sprinted and dove right in. One time I was surfing and he swam directly to me and sat on the board with me and we surfed a wave in together. A memory that will never leave me

All three are absolutely adorable and beautiful π. Goldens are well known for their gentle and kind peaceful character β£οΈβ£οΈβ£οΈ. Since I was a child I wished to own a Retriever but when we wanted to adopt a new dog there wasn't NEVER ever a Goldenπππ. They really have a golden and kind heart, they are big cuddle pups and lap dogsπ. In my almost 40 years working career in a big vet clinic I NEVER met a Golden with any kind of aggression They were ALWAYS sweethearts looking for making new friends don't matter if other dogs or humans... They just want to be loved and the love they give back is more then unconditional...β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ They are very emphatic and emotional and they will be the best friend you ever could have... And they are sooooo sweet and beautiful π. When you look in their eyes it is like you can see the ground of the ocean... Nothing hidden, no aggression, nothing false, honest and deepest love and they are very funny too... What is better than having a Golden ??? Having two or more of them β£οΈβ£οΈβ£οΈ In 4 years when I get retired we will move to West Africa, The Gambia. My husband is from Senegal, the neighbour country... He lives here in Germany since more than 17 years and we are both tired of living here... All this rules and commands are so annoying, exploding prices everywhere... The rent of a condo or house will take about 35% and more of your of your incoming money and this is crazy... Gambia is cheaper than Senegal and the official language is english and not french like in Senegal. Both countries are small so you can visit the family during 2.5 - 3 hours by bus. When we are there we will start a animal rescue cause we can rent houses with big grounds for about 200 Euro per month and it will be a real good one π. I am always so happy when I am thinking about it... It is my long term dream to save animals in need and give them a second chance for a long, happy, healthy and loved life ππΎππΎππΎππΎππΎππΎππΎπ
