As I was editing this video I noticed I repeat words way too much, in one 10 second span I think I say the word "area" 5 times. I will work on this in future videos, I honestly think this video is fine with the sound off lol.
I hope this gives you some ideas if you are new to the city or plan on moving here/visiting at some point in the future. Edmonton really has a ton of really great neighborhoods all over the city!
If you got some value out of this video please give it a like, and if you'd like to watch more of my videos please consider subscribing to my channel - I upload at least one video per week.
I am still pretty new at making videos and I greatly appreciate the support I have received, thank you everyone.
And thanks for watching, cheers!

What a great video!! I have lived in Edmonton and/or area since 1985 and seeing the areas that I also love most highlighted so beautifully on you tube warms my heart!! Thank you!!

cool video, lived in Strathcona years ago and boy was it different

I concur with your choices; glad you chose Riverdale for one of the top 5. It's a hidden gem.

Great picks! I grew up on the north side in Kilkenny in the 70s and 80s, and stayed in this area until around 2010. I liked it there when I was a kid, it was a new area and had very little crime. After 2010 I moved to the Mayfield area, and loved living on the west end, so close to the south side and river valley. I used to drive to Glenora just to walk through the neighbourhood in the summers to see all the beautiful yards and gardens. Thanks for the video, it brought back so many good memories for me. 😊

Good vid. I live in Strathcona. Love it. Ritchie is really coming up lately too.

I grew up around Edmonton and lived in many of these area’s.. I never lived in Riverdale.. but it was always a personal favourite neighborhood.. I spent a couple years right across the street from BulGoGi… totally agree with your list.

Great video, I love the southside personally and have lived in many areas in strathcona or surrounding. Also riverdale is amazing, stumbled across it while biking a few years ago and was like omg its so cute! Also st Josephs cathedral is where Wayne Gretzky was married :)

Glenora is split into Old Glenora and Glenora as well like Strathcona. Great video. The LRT, gentrification, and zoning is changing these core neighbourhoods.

Amazing video. I love all these old neighbourhoods. I used to live in Edmonton in Millwoods near Greensview School. I currently live in Regina in the beautiful Cathedral Area and all these old neighbourhoods remind me of where I currently live except of course the highrises which we don't have in Cathedral. I can't wait to see more neighbourhood videos from you. I hope your channel keeps growing.

We left Edmonton when I was very young. Returning to visit family, I remember Jasper Place, Beverly, the Highlands, Oliver. I wonder if Olivers Steakhouse is still there? And of course YEG was wayyyyyy out of town.

I have to comment. If it wasn't for Glenora, WEM would have had LRT service 40 years ago! While I respect, not in my backyard, the homeowners spent millions to stop the LRT project. Hence we have a valley line along stony plain road 40 years later. I'm sorry, I pay my taxes don't expect me to respect people who don't want progression. Apparently, they won...

Is griesbach a nice place?

Love the videos. I wonder if there is a way to connect through email or WhatsApp? I have an interesting Edmonton story that I would love to share.

I personally disagree with these choices, but it's a good list if that's what your looking for. Personally I like cookie cutter, new, safe neighborhoods on the outside edges of the city like Keswick, Heritage Valley, etc. When I want to go downtown or wherever for anything I have no problem driving to them , and returning to suburban life after

It's spelled neighbourhood

Oliver is ripe with crime. Totally unsafe. Check any city of Edmonton crime map and compare to other suburban neighbourhoods.
