When you hold the polarizer film in front of the white screen, you see the picture on the screen.

for the tv part, in order to get the white screen they take off the polarising layer and attach it to the glasses, you can do that at home with a spare monitor if you dont want people to see what ur doing but i dont think it just deletes sunlight
