Just a footnote: The Vikings ALSO drafted arguably the best defensive player in the draft....Dallas Turner, who got a sack and 2 pressures in his 1st start.

Darnold is gonna surprise a lot of people. Not saying he will be great, but i see him keeping the Vikings very competitive and darnold will perform as an above average qb in the league. Front end of the schedule is brutal and will show us a lot of what he truly has to offer. If I’m wrong I’ll be happy to admit it but this is what I truly believe

People look at Darnold as a bridging QB, I think he can be much , much more. JJ is very promising, but so can Darny.

It takes time for some guys. Did you watch McCarthy at Michigan? Some guys have IT. Everybody will know by third preseason game. McCarthy is going to be the best qb out of this draft. Just goes to show you how important it is to have GREAT evaluators. Some of these guys should be washing dishes at Applebee’s.

I'm a Vikings fan. I think the Vikings can be good this year, but are more planning to go all in next year. I have always believed the plan is to sit JJ a year. I think it's Darnold's team this year. He is in a great situation and I think this will make or break his career. I think Darnold will be the guy as long as they are in contention and I fully expect them to be in the Wild Card hunt. However, if Darnold faulters, I think we could see JJ in there taking reps to get him ready for next year.
