Two Kayakers run a 20 foot waterfall that leads into a 50-60 foot waterfall. The first 20 foot waterfall goes terribly wrong for the second paddler who swims just above the 50-60 foot waterfall. The second paddler is clinging to a rock wall while the first paddler gets a throw rope out of his kayak and saves the second paddler from swimming over the second Big waterfall.

Just saved my friend's life. Now I'm going to drop this 60 footer. No biggie.

AWESOME SAVE...AWESOME SAVE!!!!  Textbook! If you used your wedged kayak as an anchor for yourself, then this is elevated to the level of WORLD CLASS BRILLIANT!! You had the presence of mind to read the situation and act swiftly...and you knew the clock was ticking on your friend's ability to hang on. Swimming that falls likely would have ended with a broken femur/hip, because it was not a clean drop. so you HAD TO MAKE THAT TOSS!! And the editing of the two experiences together gave full breadth to the narrative of the film. Best of its kind I've ever seen.
  • You can fake a lot of things, whitewater kayaking is not one of them

Showing both perspectives was nice. You had one chance at that throw, he had one chance to make the grab...absolutely nuts. Glad you both made it out relatively safely!

I thought people were probably exaggerating about the song... nope it's definitely awful.

Just replaced my old ragged throwrope with a new 70 footer NRS partly due to this video - hope I don't need to use it... This is the best rescue footage I've seen! Thanks.

Thank you for saving bren! This time and all the others we didn't see.

I like the comment about "don't run a waterfall you wouldn't care to jump down or swim over..."  Does that guy think that the kayak is just for style?  Being in a kayak allows us to do things in places that would be dangerous otherwise.  That's the point.  Awesome save.  Sick drop.  Great footage.

Great save... shitty song, but great save.

How did he end up getting out of that gorge?

I've never even done a class III but love watching stuff like this! Crazy footage and overall vid was put together with soundtrack and different angle edits perfectly.

That was just so well executed that rescue ! Excellent job. Assessed the situation made sure he was safe and secure before attempting rescue!
  • Fair play to everyone involved. We all swim sometimes, but we definitely don't always pull off such a good rescue. Great effort! Haha, "only run something if you'd be happy to swim it or jump over it", what a ridiculous idea.

Awesome video and wicked rescue. That dude owes you one! Nice work

That was pretty gnarly. Nice toss on the throw bag. As somebody who's been bagged multiple times myself, it's comforting to boat with friends that you 100% trust. Good job. I've made your vid the video of the day on GPA.
