A city on the news, a city on the brink, a city of the future. All three describe Aleppo....we visited just before the earthquake a couple of months ago and the city has so much to offer. From little bars, great restaurants, friendly people and viewpoints. Welcome to Aleppo!

Syrian people are my inspiration. - Love, from Indonesia
  • As a Somali-American, what happened to Aleppo is extremely sad. Why would any country destroy the peaceful lives of Syrians who were living in harmony? 😭 May Allah restore Aleppo to its former state and bring peace to all its people.

Thank you for this video. I’m so glad to see this. My father is from Syria. My mother an American. I visited Aleppo twice in my life: (1995 and 2003) The news of civil war and destruction in Aleppo was heart breaking for me. Glad to see peace again some the major sites not totally destroyed by the war.

I've been wanting to visit Syria for such a long time but with bias in the media I've been scared to visit. Thank you both of you for altering that thought within me. You guys are amazing and are showing the reality for what it is. Thank you.

Always wanted to visit Syria. Then the war started and to my horror a lot was destroyed, like Palmyra. I hope theyll rebuild and i hope one day i will go. Love to all syrian people.

You all have evoked feelings of homesickness within me. It has been more than a decade since I left my homeland. You are fortunate to have experienced the finest cuisine in the world, even during the most challenging circumstances following the cruel war.

  • Aleppo Citadel is considered to be one of the oldest and largest castles in the world. Usage of the Citadel hill dates back at least to the middle of the 3rd millennium BC. Occupied by many civilizations over time – including the Greeks, Armenians, Romans, Byzantines, Ayyubids, Mamluks and Ottomans – the majority of the construction as it stands today is thought to originate from the Ayyubid period. An extensive conservation work took place in the 2000s by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, in collaboration with Aleppo Archeological Society. Dominating the city, the Citadel is part of the Ancient City of Aleppo, an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. During the 2010s, the Citadel received significant damage during the lengthy Battle of Aleppo. It was reopened to the public in early 2018 with repairs to damaged parts underway. The citadel was damaged by the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake.

People of Aleppo are famous of having a beautiful voices because it's a kind of a cultural thing not just a hobby That's why most of people there like to sing And there's many famous Arab singers are actually from Aleppo like (Sabaah Fakhry) and they have a specific kind of singing and performing especially with Auod (guitar like instrument) and Qanoun (harb like)
