Disney Animation's "Wish" is now streaming on Disney+.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Wish” is an all-new musical-comedy welcoming audiences to the magical kingdom of Rosas, where Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico—to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. Featuring the voices of Academy Award®-winning actor Ariana DeBose as Asha, Chris Pine as Magnifico, and Alan Tudyk as Asha’s favorite goat, Valentino, the film is helmed by Oscar®-winning director Chris Buck (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (“Raya and the Last Dragon”), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster Jones (“Encanto”). Jennifer Lee (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) executive produces—Lee and Allison Moore (“Night Sky,” “Manhunt”) are writers on the project. With original songs by Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice, plus score by composer Dave Metzger.

The rhyming makes me feel good about my poetry.
  • Disney was brave leaving on the comments for this song especially
  • "I wish for someone else but lin manuel miranda to compose disney songs" And the monkey paw curls
  • @GingerBeanie
The tune itself works but the lyrics just do NOT flow 😭😭😭😭

WE STARTED AT THE BOTTOM AND NOW WE IN THE TRENCHES🔥🔥🔥🔥

The beginning and end are good. The middle part is clunky, it’s packed with exposition and has a lot of syllable changes and half rhymes, which makes it feel like rambling. Also a lot of its information was already kind of explained in the story book at the beginning. I feel like they should’ve added the remaining details to that bit, then used the middle of this song to display Asha’s character a little bit. What is her relationship with the town’s people outside of her immediate friends and family? What are her initial motivations?

It's like they took Family Madrigal and were like "yeah we can do that" without knowing what makes Family Madrigal good
  • In the song "Welcome To Rosas", Asha sings that the king has lightning hands and eyes that glow. She then says she's just kidding. By the end of the movie, Magnifico does have lightning for hands and eyes that glow.
  • @BlueAndGold31
Definitely "Family Madrigal" vibes - when you have a song towards the beginning of the movie to introduce the setting and the premise
  • @hatahatulyn5300
I really liked Asha’s opening when she welcomed visitors in three languages - Spanish (hola), Arabic (salam) and Hebrew (shalom).
  • @Falstaff85
Criticize this song however you like, it’s still incredibly catchy.

One of my favourite opening songs! The melody feels like it makes a cloudy grey sky turn blue.

Asha might just be my new fav character now😊💜✨️

Wonderful movie, wonderful song - the best, IMO. Don't give too much of the story away. Let it be a surprise. The cutest hero in any Disney movie in a long time.

I like this song. I like this movie. Is it my favorite Disney movie of all time? No. But that's okay. It's still enjoyable imo.

I saw this movie and it was sooo Amazingly Clear and Heartfelt with the sound effects of the ground shaking and 💺 seating vibration. My son and his friends loved it.
