Caravan of Dreams performance

This channel is dedicated to the late Shirley McFatter, crowned at her passing as Dallas' Queen of Jazz. While she worked with many internationally known jazz musicians in local Dallas venues, she chose to perform mainly in live gigs around Dallas Fort Worth.
She gained a huge following locally, both in clubs, concerts and as a stage actress, and was a 'force of nature' in promoting jazz and educating youth to America's Classical music, JAZZ!

Shirley at Caravan of Dreams, with Roger Boykin on piano, Rachella Parks on sax, Charles Scott, bass, WA Richardson, drums. Rachella was a very young lady when this was done, and she was showing what a tremendous talent she was then, as now. Mr. Scott, 'Scotty', was absolutely the nicest man ever. WA William Richardson lived around the corner from Shirley (and I, her husband) for years; I gave him a lot of Shirley's jazz magazines, but he passed on a few years later as did Mr Scott. Hear Fort Worth's "Jazz Mother" Ms Marjorie Crenshaw in the audience!
