Di balik dunia kita, ada dunia lain: sebuah dunia yang dihuni monster-monster kuat dan berbahaya yang berkuasa dengan kekejaman. Sebuah badai pasir memindahkan Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) dan pasukannya (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) ke sebuah dunia asing, mereka mendapati dunia itu berisi monster-monster raksasa menakutkan yang tidak mempan semua senjata mereka. Dalam perjuangan mereka bertahan hidup, pasukan kecil itu bertemu seorang misterius bernama Hunter (Tony Jaa), yang memiliki kemampuan khusus sehingga bisa selangkah lebih dulu dari para monster. Sementara Artemis dan Hunter perlahan mulai saling percaya, Artemis menemukan bahwa Hunter adalah bagian dari sebuah tim yang dipimpin Admiral (Ron Perlman). Menghadapi bahaya yang sangat besar yang bisa menghancurkan dunia, mereka menggabungkan kemampuan mereka masing-masing untuk bersama-sama berjuang dalam pertarungan terbesar.

The one thing that turned me off of this movie is that they used the Isekai trope. If it was the classic progression of a beginner and their first hunt, I would have been perfectly fine with the movie. The Isekai'd trope makes me think "How many more people has that happened to, how many survived, and how long has it been going on."
