It's Christmas Eve (almost 5am now) I'm finishing a paper for uni. There's a christmas tree lit up and some presents in my parents' living room, my cat is asleep on the couch. I'm all alone in the night.. but I have this music πŸ–€
  • I picture myself dancing alone in a dark room with lit candles while the world is ending. I have finally accept that I am alone but in that exact moment, not lonely. It is ironically comforting.
  • It’s currently 4AM, I’m finishing an art piece for my mom while sitting in my living room with my cat on my lap purring and asleep. Our formal Christmas tree is lit with white lights and matching ornaments with a glowing star. There’s a snowstorm outside. I couldn’t feel more at ease than I do. I love this era of music. Wish me good luck the power doesn’t go out.
  • as always, listening to this type of tunes makes my heart warm, how i wish this genre would make a comeback in the mainstream music today :) but can you do a oldies jazz birthday songs playlist <33
  • To the person who made this playlist: Thank you from the bottom of my heart and bless you. This playlist just saved me from a massive anxiety attack on this very lonely night.
  • The comment section of playlists like this is like a mirror to the souls of so many of us trying so hard to just be one of them to survive in this world. More power to all of us. :)
  • Every now and then me and my girlfriend dance to songs like this, we don't have to be well dressed, or dance well, just the feeling of having each other close and be able to move together in the same vibe is such a blessing
  • My 89 yo grandma knew exactly what song this was and started singing. Thank you.

This gives me such mixed emotions. With everything going on in the world, in my life. I dont feel real, nothing feels real. Im laying in bed listening to this and just staring at the roof an awe of whats happening. What will people say when they look back at us through history..
  • I really appreciate you and your channel, the rain, the fact that there are no pauses between the songs. You have no idea how much my old and empty soul needed this, it has been a long while since I have felt love, and now because of your content, I have felt it once again. Just so you know, I am a 17 year old all the way from South Africa, so if you ever think that you are not reaching people, you most certainly are. Thank you.<3

POV: The sound of nuclear sirens flooded throughout the neighborhood. You were staring at the TV broadcasting the emergency message from the president as a warm tear slid down your cheek. You felt your husband squeeze you by the waist as he brought you closer to him. A cold finger tenderly wiped away the silent tears that were beginning to steadily rush down your face. β€œKids. We never got to have-β€œ you managed to choke out before your husband enveloped you in a tight hug. β€œShhh, it’ll be alright.” He cooed as he ran his hands up and down your back. Little did you know, as you nestled your face into the crook of his neck, tears were streaming from his eyes as well. β€œIt’s so loud…” you murmured. β€œJust listen to my voice, sweetheart.” Your husband said as he began to rock you back and forth within his arms. And amidst the chaotic noise happening outside, you could hear him sweetly humming the song you both knew so well. It was the same one that was sung in the bar lounge from the night you both met. You began to hum along with him and the both of you slowly danced. It was time to stop worrying about the future. You can only focus on the both of you now and cherish these final moments together. A blinding light then overtook the room like a billion glittering diamonds. You wanted to tell your husband how the wedding ring he gave you glittered the same way under the sun. You wanted to tell him how much your wedding day meant to you. But everything went dark before you could. Even death could not separate you both. β€’ β€’ β€’ β€’ Edit 10/1/21: Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed this short piece I just wrote πŸ₯² On a bit of a positive note, my Insta writing account is @nezies_stories and I’ve be posting my other YouTube stories there. • This made me realize how much i actually love old music. It makes me feel absolutely amazing, almost like fireworks firing with each beat. Have a blessed day.

Currently listening to this in bed while my dearest is in the living room with our two dogs. My heart is happy.

It’s 12 minutes before New year but feeling both melancholic and optimistic listening to this playlist.

I'm aware that probably most of these songs were written after World War II, but this playlist reminds me of those times. A couple in love with each other as foreign troops approach the city limits. Or they should be enemies, but fall in love with each other and dance their last dance before being exposed. Those were difficult but true times.

The record cracks and pops are really what makes it for me (or is supposed to be rain? They sound kind of similar). My dad played a lot of records growing up, and had a liking for old romantic songs and it brings up so much nostalgia.

Kind of hard to find someone my age nowadays that want to slow dance so at least thinking of it makes me happier
