After experiencing hurricane Maria (2017), in Puerto Rico, readiness is a priority in my hurricane season list. I have been thru a Cat 1,2,3,4,&5. Maria was a Cat 5; scared the heck out of me. I pray that nobody loses their life over a hurricane this year. Prepare you guys....prepare.

One important fact about hurricanes: Spin-off tornadoes. This needs to be addressed.
  • Last year during the hottest summer in recent years and lots of hurricane activities, they told us 2024 is going to be warmer and worse. It has arrived. Good luck everyone.
  • I don’t ever remember them comming out with a special video to warn us about the upcoming-comming season and I have been here for half my life on and off. It’s been 14 now since I came back the last time. I went thru Irma and Ian! Ian was BAD! I feel I have the right to say I been in an actual hurricaine. Lost half the house and the front of my home looked no different then the golf of Mexico! Scary was an understatement. This has me worried! I can promise you, I will NOt be riding nothing out this year! I’m in Punta Gorda/ englewood/ port Charlotte area! Pray for all of us! Some peoples home aren’t even fully repaired from Irma yet!
  • I’m glad he talked about the different programs NOAA has in place to monitor and forecast weather. NOAA has been limping along on a very minimal budget as long as I can remember, which is also why the partnerships are so critical. NOAA is constantly trying to make up for lack of money by getting free stuff from partners, mostly other federal agencies, or piggybacking on their projects. It’s a precarious way to carry out their mission. I hope they got a little bit of a budget bump under Biden, but I doubt Congress approved a very big one. Anyway, I saw some new stuff here that is likely going to save a lot of lives as the weather gets scarier and scarier.

Thank you NOAA for this important information. I live in San Antonio and NOT near the Gulf Coast however, we have catastrophic storms/rains that flood our entire city by hurricanes in the Gulf Coast. My daughter and I are preparing already. God bless you all at NOAA and all parties involved around the country and abroad.🙏♥️

I live inland on the Treasure Coast in Florida. Thankfully, hurricanes are forewarned so you know what may happen. I recently had hurricane impact windows and doors installed and feel it was worth the cost. My garage door is hurricane reinforced and my back porch has floor to ceiling hurricane shutters. It'll still be unnerving when I hear one is coming though. One past hurricane I remember the roof shingles being ripped off. Sounded like a machine gun as the nails were being ripped out of the wood. Another hurricane I remember, sounded like there was a train going by outside at 150mph.

I got chills when he said the big ones are fast

Be careful on the beaches this summer, with all these storms forming there's going to be a lot of stronger than usual rip currents coming with them.
  • @bokneeza
Love how South Florida is their main concern.

Frankie MacDonald - Canadian Weather Legend and YouTube Star says: “Take cover! Have your rubber boots ready have your raincoats ready have your sandbags ready, Have all your food and water ready have your canned goods ready have your batteries ready have your flashlight ready have your charging power banks ready have everything ready!! Hurricanes will be so powerful in Atlantic Canada and Southern USA this season there will be 17 - 20 major storms with many becoming Hurricanes! BE PREPARED !!!”

22:38 it would be really helpful if we had interactive maps with the impact overlays, things like expected & potential flooding maps, etc.

    39mph?!? That’s every day in Chicago 😆😆😆
  • I'm in South Florida. There are only a couple of ways out and they get clogged fast. I don't have a good feeling about this but placing my fears and life in the hands of Jesus Christ.
