Everything is coming together, I also think Saban gave the new head coaches a couple of pointers to stay successful! Jalen looks to be a little more accurate but still doesn't seem to be too confident in his passing game but still has a great rush game. Ty Simpson is fresh and needs more experience but fairly accurate in his throw game and a little nervous during the pass rush. Got a good O-line for sure (nothing new) , then the D-line does look a little slow off snap. DB's look solid as well as secondary. Now we just need to tie everything together and put the ones with the most heart on 1st string, practice and perfect it and take home another National Title!
  • Positives: - QBs looked great. Milroe looks very comfortable in his run/pass decision making, and you can see the throwing motion improvement. Ty was throwing lasers, easily the best arm and pure passer in the room, fits perfectly in the DeBoer offense. - Germie Bernard and Cole Adams will suprise a ton of people. Germie can be Alabama’s version of a Dillon Bell for Georgia, a great utility guy that keeps the defense guessing. Adams is very speedy and has good hands, will %100 crack the rotation. - Running backs are elite, maybe one of the top 3 RB rooms in football. Haynes, Miller, and Blackie all very explosive and can work in the passing game, moreso for Jam and Justice, with Blackie being a great power back. - Line looked pretty good. The C1 didn’t even suit up, but two deep centers who can snap is a relief. IOL is very good, maybe the best in college football with 2 of PFF’s top returning guards and the top center. Pritchett looks much improved from last year and Procter will be back with the Tide in the summer. Depth was a concern, but the other backup tackle battle with Formby and McVay looks promising, both guys can give valuable reps. - Won’t go too much into playcalling as the spring game is very vanilla, but you can tell there was a little flexing on the offense today. A lot of motions, h back used in various way in gun, far more 5 step drops than last year, great power game and gap blocking in 11 personnel, which is great. - linebacker play and edge play was great. Lawson and Campbell, imo, is easily a top 3 linebacker duo in college football, and the edge depth is insane. Russaw, Keeley, QRob, Koht, Pierre. - Secondary showed some young guys that may not be too far off from ready. Red Morgan and Xavien Brown looked good. Sabb and Malachi did what they’ve been doing. Negatives: - The offensive line depth is still a concern. I believe the starting rotation plus a few other will be very solid, potentially great, but a few guys who need minutes still don’t look ready. Ionata, Roq, etc. need those guys. - defensive line was suspect. There’s a lot of depth there but there is no gamewrecker, no one who can take big double teams consistently. Need Jaheim Oatis completely healthy this year, as well as LT, TKIII, Jordan Renaud, and James Smith to take a big step. - Secodary still has depth issues. I trust tha starting five in a nickel set will be very solid but there isn’t too much after that that keeps me happy. Domani needs to take a big step this year, Mbakwe needs to be ready to play, Mincey needs to be both healthy and ready to play, need Hurley, Mitchell, and Smith to improve there. Can’t keep the same guys on the field all game with the reciever talent in the SEC.

Justice Hayes and Richard Young need to be the backs
  • The D looks iffy. Need to get better at breaking blocks and tackling
  • I think Jalen is great but I feel like Ty is really close to him

1st snap on defense play diagnosed quikly had guys in position to make play(this was just a scrimmage). Second snap was a sack for sure. 3rd snap the o line did their jobs and gave Jalen a clean pocket .
