The single best tip to offer: Go into settings and turn off repeating notifications. That way you're not told hundreds of times that you can winch, turn on AWD, or recover a vehicle when you're trying to get through a section.

Tip: When looking at the map trailers will show up in 2 different colors, red is a tow behind trailer and blue is a semi trailer that needs a low saddle.

My tip: When you’re done with a region, collect all of the trailers you don’t want, take them to the nearest trailer store and sell them for some extra cash!

I found the steering twitchy and prone to overcorrection. Goin into settings and changing to steering wheel mode helped a lot. It causes the wheels to re center automatically lessening the tendency to over correct

Another point. If you have the small crane and you’re stuck in the mud with no nearby winch points, you can stick the crane into the ground and extend it to use it as a paddle to push yourself closer to a winch point. Did that once lol.

Plant small fuel trailers around the map in case you start to run low , send your scouts out to open up the maps . Don’t drive to fast or you will tip . Always pick the winch which works without the engine running , if in doubt about mud go around it,

L1/LB + X/A turns the engine on and off without going into the functions menu, useful to save on fuel when you go into the map to plot a route

Yesterday I found out you can find eyes watching you in the forest in Russia and Michigan. Also I seen a wolf appear then dissapear.

Day 1... got myself stuck between rocks to just think "oh main menu will reset me.." wrong,lol I started a new game then found the recover option😂

Another great tip: upgrades can be sold again as well. And everything (trucks, trailers and upgrades) can be sold at 100% the cost so don’t hesitate to just sell a truck, you can always buy it again later.

Those "free" trailers often have cargo, which may be closer to an objective than the regular place where you get it. You can either haul the trailer, or if your truck has a crane you can pick cargo off the trailer (you have to connect to the trailer and unpack it first). If a "free" trailer has fuel in it, you can use it as a resource by hauling it somewhere useful rather than always having to go back to the garage or a fuel stop to refuel.

My Tip: Anything you buy you can sell back for the same price from trucks to tires to parts

I just started playing today and I figured out a trick for towing trailers. If you're stuck, detach the trailer, gain some momentum, and then quick winch to the front to yank it. Rinse and repeat. (Might only work on select trailers. I've only tested it on the first type of trailers so far)

Here's another tip: Manually choosing winch attach points can be time consuming and the quick winch function in external view can be a bit flakey on where it attaches. If you go to the interior view and use quick winch it will attach to whatever is closest to the center of the screen. The will usually let you pick a specific tree faster and changing views is faster than opening the function menu and manually selecting both attach points.

To change gears with the auto function simply press L1 quickly while accelerating to up a gear and when you feel the vehicle bog down press it again and it will downshift without stopping, saving you much needed momentum

another tip: looking at the map automatically saves your game (only works if the game hasn’t save just yet).. might be useful if you’re not sure that your truck or trailer are gonna roll over.. why, you asked? coz when they did roll over, just press ALT+F4 immediately to quit the game (before it saves your ‘progress’) and then continue to play again just before the accident happen 🤣🤣

Having trouble With vehicle rescues or recovery’s? Always wedge your vehicle against a tree to strengthen any tough winch rescue jobs. Works every time 👍

OMG i cant stop playing this game its soooo good. A good tip i have found that isnt mentioned a lot (may be ovb to some) is turning your wheels in deep mud going from left to right full lock. I spent 5 min doing this (felt like an hour) when i was bogged down in deep mud and water by a river with nothing to latch on to with the winch, dont give up even if it looks like its not moving eventually you will find traction or a small rock for the tire to hit, its usualy the back wheels that get stuck but turning the front wheels flatens the mud and you sometimes find a harder bit for your truck to grip onto. Done this a few times and the satisfaction when you manage it is why the game is so good instead of just recovering work at it. Also release your trailer if your stuck and get the vehicle out first, then winch the trailer as the truck is much lighter to get out than with it attached and you can winch from a better spot and re attach when your out of trouble.
