In this video, it’s going to be all about APS-C cameras and Lenses you should buy for canon mirrorless camera, wether it’s EF-M or EF-S mount. I’ll give you some basic explanation on what an APS-C camera is, what difference it has with a Full Frame Camera, what is crop factor...

I started my journey in filmmaking and video with the #CanonM50 and bought lenses I knew I could also keep if I upgraded my camera body. That’s why I’ve build my kit with lenses that I would really use and give me the best value and quality.

So if you're looking for a wide-angle lens or the best lens for your Canon M50, make sure to watch till the end.

Little correction: you don’t have cropped 4K and keep dual pixel AF on the M6 Mkii.

such a good, clear informative video. I was confused with all the others i watched. I'm learning about cameras and lenses now, want to buy an m50 soon
  • @DadGotThis
They updated the nifty fifty to use STM and it is as silent as the 24mm now! I love it again!

Thomas, you have the best logical advice for your audience. Thanks for sharing your expertise! I know it's a lot of work, but it would've been awesome to see samples of the photos/videos with the recommended lens too. Keep up the great videos!
  • Really want to try out that Sigma 18-35 on my M50 one day, looks sooo niceeeeee
  • Thanks for the info! I just bought a m50 for my vlogs. I was using my phone. Haha I'm really excited for buying some lenses. I have a 24mm already. I can't wait to try it. Thanks again!
  • You have taught me more in 2 minutes of this video than 3 years of watching camera videos. 💯 Thanks bro

Aye, you're back. Man, I really hope you're safe and healthy. - I too was thinking the same, buying EF-M lenses makes no sense to me. Someday, if I want to upgrade my system I'd have to buy most lenses again, whereas in the case of EF lenses they can easily be used in more advanced Canon or any other systems. - Thanks for sharing your thoughts, maybe try uploading more often. I really appreciate your content.

I would love to see some video footage of the lenses you recommended in this video using the m50! Follow up video idea?

Hi! If you had the chance one day, I would love to see a review of the canon m50, Tamron 15-30 f2.8 with speedbooster. I can't find this combination on youtube, no one has done that yet...✌
  • @DocBoA
M6 mk ii gets full sensor readout and dpaf in 4k. Great vid
  • Hi Thomas! Here's a couple questions (out of many): Is the Speed Booster also an Adapter? If so, since the Speed Booster can give you an extra f-stop for better light, wouldn't it be a good choice? Second, in terms of weight and bulk for traveling and hiking, does the adapter add significantly? What do you think of the EF-M 55-200mm. I love nature/wildlife shots, what would you suggest?

I really appreciate your honesty in your videos! Now I know that I'm gonna buy the adaptor with ef-s lense but do you recommend Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 for an all-in-one lens?
  • @buche84
Hi, thanks for this video, I'm planning to buy a wide lens to replace the m50 kit lens. Mostly I'm shooting 4k (fix camera), what do you recommend between the ef-m 11-22, and the ef-s 10-18 (sharpness is the most important). Thanks
  • @mprichard7
I like my 32mm efm lens I just find it to-restrictive on the focal lengh . Trying to find some solution in the 85mm range
  • @alexklante
I have a m50 and bought the 50 mm Ef and for some reason the sigma 30 mm 1.4 but now im looking for a all in one lenses at least with 200 mm in the end
