  • I have 1/35 Dragon Tiger tank & really enjoyed your video. I'm 65 yrs old it's been over 50 yrs but since illness has me home I have tried my hand at it again. Ty again.
  • @svmik
Keep the videos coming! You got me back into modelling after 30 years break - thank you!

I've just built this kit for a "Malinovka" diorama and it is a beautiful kit to build . All the parts are ready for priming and I'll be using the new Atom paints . Having built 4 Tiger 1s with another 6 in my stash I highly recommend this kit by Takom folks.........don't delay buy it today 👍👍👍

Great new Tigers by Takom, but the tracks can go directly into the bin. Teensy attachment points for the guide horns that promptly bend over and fall away when you try to put the tracks on the tank. Also it's almost impossible to keep from gluing the links to Takom's supplied jig. One other warning, try to fit your top deck as soon as you get the radiators and fans in because they can easily be installed in such a way to interfere with the deck and keep it from sitting down properly.
  • That was very insightful, thank you very much for sharing both the broad picture and the detail aspects of this kit :)
  • Every time I hear about this model it makes me think of Carius' excellent book "Tigers In The Mud." He descibes his early Tiger pretty well, considering.
  • I just got one of these Takom Tigers and this is the channel I’ve come to get a view about this kit from..This channel knows Tiger’s,the machines and kits..I’ve looked at my Takom Tiger yesterday and it looks very good..
  • Hello to you sir! Good to see you post a video. This is a busy time of season for someone in your profession. I have two early Dragon Models Tiger I kits, the initial production with side bins on the turret, Leningrad front and the "Afrika" Tiger in Tunisia 1943. Currrently working on the initial production kit; lots of parts & lots of road wheels! Also purchased a set of Friulmodel tracks, the "mirror" tracks used on the initial type.

I love your content! The idea of getting into modeling was really daunting but you've made it seem much less scary!
  • A really good review. This is clearly a very detailed modern kit that should make an accurate model. It will be interesting to see what you make of the build. The one thing that bugs me is the link and length track. Clearly this is well detailed and accurate but it makes building a model rather limited. I like to make dioramas of tanks traversing uneven ground. It ads a bit of movement into the model and this is very difficult with the length of tracks being perfectly straight, especially one under the wheels. I have tried various ways to make the tracks conform to uneven ground but without much success. I usually resort to aftermarket workable tracks. Its a shame this model doesn't have workable click together links.
  • Seem to have missed your videos fora while, glad you are back, hope all is well.
  • Thank you for posting this!🤔Although I am not addicted to the Tiger, I have some diorama ideas, so have already ordered Takom's Tiger '3-pack' AND their follow-up '2-pack' as well, so this kit will be one of them. 😀A few more thoughts... IMHO, there is nothing wrong with an open-box tour of a kit, and yours was much more than that, as your commentary included a lot of fascinating info that I'm sure every non-expert appreciates learning about Tigers, including yours truly! Kudos!👍 BTW, in addition to the error in the rotation of the commander's cupola, apparently the Tiger experts out there have identified a rather baffling dimensional error regarding the rear deck of all of Takom's Tigers. (..tsk, tsk Takom..a careless cock-up with Carius' kit? lol..) Oh well..ideally, an aftermarket company will address that issue to sate the expectations of the most ardent of Tiger fans...)🤔 On the positive side of the ledger...as was the case with Takom's Panther G...yes indeed, they've really knocked it out of the park with their rendering of zimmerit, which includes realistic damage to the coating. I wonder if the actual locations & nature of the damage matches what was seen in photos of Carius' Tiger...🤔 I hope all is well with you & your family. I guess it has been an especially busy time of the year for you..hopefully it has been less about 'horrorculture' and more about a productive & rewarding season! 😀
  • Yea, I really like my kit also. I will build the Tamiya with this one for a comparison.👍 Enjoy your build.👍
  • @ImJeff1965
Wonderful heads up! Just got the three pack kit from tacom and getting ready to start building!
  • @AdamMann3D
His Tiger was like that from the factory. It just has a late hull (extensions) and an early mantlet.
  • I purchased the big box with the 3 kits, love the big German cats...
  • I built the late Tiger, very nice kit with the stowage included. The only awkward part were the track guide horns.
  • You should change the grill mesh to Tamiyas ! They are the best on the market ! Look them up !😊
  • At 15:35 you talk about the zoomed-in diagram of part T12. That's actually a mistake on Takom's part. Tigers of this version didn't have part T12.
