The 39 half-hour mostly original stories were produced by Sheldon Reynolds and filmed in France by Guild Films, starring Ronald Howard as Holmes and H. Marion Crawford as Watson.

  • The idea of Holmes taking time to learn trout or salmon fishing is new to me! Th captions always amuse me, even when they get it right. The boy said that the two were "mad as a March hare" and the captions got nonsense.

    I'm still trying to figure out the English idiom the boy spoke right before he left Holmes and Watsons flat. I watch these old shows from England and some of the sayings go that over my head. Driving me nuts.
