I dont understand why it's not obvious to care givers . Wouldn't it be more humane to put at least a small blanket or pillow in those pens the dogs are kept in. It looks to me that it would be extremely uncomfortable and no relief. Especially bad for a pregnant dog to deliver on that grate, she has nothing else. Bad for feet too. Even a piece of wood or plastic on the floor of the cage. As it is there's nowhere comfortable to rest! Pieces of plastic could easily be rinsed at cleaning time, and put back to give the dogs some relief. Let's see you try to sleep on a surface like you've left her on.
