Bob Seger is a national treasure! He has about 40 plus hits
  • I love how he changes the meaning of night moves from getting busy to time passing with the phrase "with autumn closing in" ie with the end of life approaching.

Bob Seger is more than just a lyricist and singer....He's a storyteller.

Bob just knew how to compose a song, has to b one of the most underrated singer, songwriters of all time.
  • Bob more than earned his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. All his songs make you feel something.

"Woke last night to the sound of thunder. How far off I sat and wondered." When you see a lightning strike, the longer it takes to thunder, the farther away it is. The sooner, the closer. What he is wondering about is how long before he dies. This song is about the stages of life.
  • I was teenager when this song came out. I’m 62 years old now. We all have own personal night moves story. Seger is a talented storyteller and song writer.
  • The song is almost more about his reflections on youth and the passage of time than it is about the teenage sex. So that breakdown really strikes you emotionally if you're in middle age or later.

Between 1977 and now I’ve seen Bob Seger 5 times. He never fails to impress me. He’s the one playing the piano!
  • You will never find a bad song in Bob's entire, lengthy catalog...and every song brings you that peaceful feeling.

Nobody looks back on the past as poetically, or as frequently, as Bob Seger.
  • "Working on mysteries without any clues" is one of my all-time favorite song lyrics ever because it's so accurate.
  • Bob has the ability to make you think, feel, remember and think ahead all in the same song! He is my all time favorite artist. His music was the soundtrack of my life during my teen years in the 70's. I had the great pleasure to see him in concert a few years back before he retired from the road. What a concert...I laughed, cried, got excited, remembered and thought ahead that night. What a talent!

I know i keep rambling but I was 17 and listened to Bob Seger with my 17 yr old boyfriend, while we were driving. It was a brilliant time.... to be young, to feel in love, to go and watch my man play rugby, put ice packs on his knee when he was injured. And the music was all part of that. Music reminds me of so many times when I was young. So many bands, so many songs, so many emotions. Pain, love, memories, it's all mixed.
  • Bob is a National Treasure, made in Detroit, told the story of his era, flawlessly.

"Like A Rock" is an absolutely must. Well, since just about every song by Bob is an absolute must, "Like A Rock" is an absolute, absolute must.
