  • 7.8??? That's huge. If we get a 5 here in Italy it's bad. What a disaster for Turkey and poor Syria whose ongoing sorrow never seems to end.

as someone living in Japan, every time I see news of Eathquakes in other countries I`m just stunned why countries that have a history of earthquakes don`t make building laws and regulations that reflect that. If the politicians wanted to they could prevent a huge percentage of these deaths, but in the end it`s all about money :( ... The people who die burried beaneath buildings... most of that could be avoided... it`s really heartbreaking
  • Our prayers are with the victims, their families and both countries. Proud that my country is one of the first to send help. From Greece

Croatia is with you Turkey 🇹🇷 🇭🇷 Turkey reached out first to help Croatia as support when we had our 6.2 earthquake and I'll never forget it and I still have trauma from quakes. I cannot imagine the level of catastrophe thats going on right now. I'll be donating and helping out as much as i possibly can. I encourage anyone else to help as soon as possible if they can. Turkey you are in my thoughts and prayers. Heartfelt condolences

I experienced 2015 Nepal earthquake. That was 7.8 and I couldn’t even run out of the building. I just kind of bounced off the wall and barely made it outside. I was so lucky to even make it out alive. Stay strong and watch out for the aftershocks. Even if a building looks intact, it’s damaged and the aftershocks will cause more damage. Keep shoes, whistle and bottle of water next to you for few months.
  • How vulnerable we are against the tiny might of mother nature. Condolences to the families of victims from India

From Pakistan 🇵🇰, I feel very sorry for the lives of innocent people..May Allah help our Turkish 🇹🇷, Syrian 🇸🇾 brothers and all others who have been affected by this calamity earthquake 🤲
  • As watching, I received a 'breaking news' notification from the BBC on one of my devices stating that a 1,000 people have been confirmed dead. As someone who experienced the March 11th earthquake in Japan (but not in the tsunami hit area), I feel particularly saddened by what has happened. Those that live some distance from the epicentre will also now go through a relatively long period of countless aftershocks that really, really start to get to you. Especially as people will be watching closely the relief efforts being conducted and that alone becomes stressful and painful to watch. Nevertheless, this is nothing in comparison with those that are in 'ground zero' and especially those who have lost loved ones as well as their homes. My heart goes out to the Turkish people at this time.
