This song truly is beautiful knowing how this truly signifies the pain Edelgard goes through, as her greatest regret is how she had that one year, that one single year, where she could truly be herself and have a normal time, a time where she could be happy and had to ultimately give it up for the sake of her ambitions. And this song never plays on her own route, but the other routes, meaning it's truly cruel because it means this is a song of regret that she gave up her moment of happiness for a dream that she failed to see through to the end.
