  • I am pretty new to your channel but your videos take me back to my teenage years in the 1980s when my Mom and Dad would take me to Ragley, Louisiana to visit my sister and later my brother as well. What fun times we had. Truly a sportsmans paradise!!!!

I'm happy y'all are okay and healthy. Good start on the shelter/container. As far as Dasher goes, yes those fawns are really cute and yes it's easy to leave them in the wild. The difference is you found one who's mother had probably been poached. Ol' Dasher was not looking good and was going to die. You took him home, fed him, gave him a little love, and nursed him back to health. You had invested your time and effort in him. It's like restoring an old truck or tractor. Once you've made an investment in it (deer, truck, tractor, child, whatever) it becomes a part of your life and you care about what happens to it. Remember the squirrels? Y'all were really attached to them and it was hard to put them in the wild but you knew that was best for them and y'all probably ride by and check on them. It's harder to let go when you've invested time and energy into something. Y'all stay blessed.

We took the dirty side wall for 6 hrs. We are 60 miles inland and the storm didn't weaken until it was north of Houston. I have live here my whole life and This storm did more damage than Ike. Power was out for 8 days and truly blessed we have a whole house generator to keep us safe. I ran power to my neighbors house so we could keep her in minimal power too. She went and stayed with her brother. Can't argue being prepared is critical to making post storm livable.
  • @Jstreamssr
Sounds like it's time for some changes and I'm totally proud of your willingness to take on this challenge!! Thank you for your beautiful hearts!!!
  • @swingarm2012
Thanks for the update on Dasher's Law. Stay strong!! Great job and love that you are willing to take this responsibility...
  • @K_Grude
Consider two doors, or at least 2 or more egress points, in case an exit is blocked after a storm. Additionally have the door open inside so that nothing can lean against it and prevent you from getting out.

Hurricane Beryl was so destructive. We're about 100 miles inland. We had power outages and trees down everywhere around us. Thankfully nothing on our home, but a couple of friends' homes were affected. The power outages were a real problem all over the southern Texas area and up into Central Texas. Since then we've ramped up our generator stable........... You're definitely doing the right thing.

Hi Lydia and Jim! It is nice to see y'all again. I loved the shot of Ladley in the opening scenes, she is quite the young lady, seems to be a real fireball, fisty and full of life. Gee, I wonder where she got that 🤔🙂 Y'all are a lot of fun and I love your sense of humor as you go back and forth with quips and humor. The bathroom and bucket solution made me laugh out loud. I appreciate the Dasher update and it's sure nice to see you are both in a much different place now with all of this. The waiting game is difficult for me too, we share that trait. Just continue to try to be patient and wait to see how this all unfolds. It would be so wonderful if somehow you and your place could become a rehab sanctuary for that purpose in your area. You both have such a heart for it, a strong desire and the benefit that would be for Ladley is all just amazing to imagine. What a blessing that would be! Have a blessed week and I'll see y'all on the next one. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.

I would really think about a suspended ceiling. You can add insulation on top and if you ever have to do any electrical expansion is is far easier. there are many options for ceiling tiles for the grid system. for the walls I would consider something like what we call "milk house" panels. 4X8 or other custom sizes of pre- finished fiberglass sheeting in white the reflects light well, bonded to 1/2 inch plywood. Cleans up easily. They also offer some vinyl and plastic coated panel options for less money.
  • @gilbreathca
Add some eye lugs to the walls to the walls and hang hammocks! Use them when you need to, take one end down when not in use. Saves a LOT of space! My teenage son loves this arrangement in his room -- so much that he sold his bed in exchange for more room in his bedroom!
  • A solar powered mini split air conditioners, like Eg4 or Ecosolaris, will run on 3 solar panels. 3 more solar panels would keep your batteries charged so that mini split could run overnight. Additional solar panels that you put up after the storm, in case there is damage, could keep you comfortable while grid is down.

You got to put an action figure on top of that thing to make like it's riding it and controlling that Sun Seeker X7.
  • @freedomrider30
A + guys!!! In just one plus year, (been here way before that) you have gone from just another U Tuber to being pure entertaining content!!! Thank you!!! Love my Canjun Family!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
  • Nice start on the container. Ya'll already know how Marie and I feel about Dasher's situation. You have our 100% support! Even tho you broke the law (a stupid law), you did the right thing. As soon as it comes in the mail, I will be wearing my "Dasher's Law" shirt and wrist band in my next video. We will all spread the word and change will take place. 🥰
  • @user-ul4sw8xp5z
Just a thought, consider insulating the outside of the container and building an exterior wall over that. It would look better and keep the heat further away from the inside of the container. On the inside you could put up thin paneling attached directly to the container wall. This would give you more interior space.
  • Guys we can't change what's going on in the world but we can change our part of it. If everyone was as positive as y'all the world would change and that's all we will be judged on. As for myself I can't change much but I can help neighbors. If that would be as contagious as covid look how things would change. God bless you with Dasher's law.
  • @BodieSelf
I KNEW IT!!!! Capt Crocs IS Spider Man!! I mean... you can't deny it. Have you ever seen Capt Crocs and Spiderman in the same room at the same time.... I think NOT!!! Ok... now serious... Yall crack me up. We need to make this container livable for 16 hours or so... Next thing you know, its gonna be nicer than my house... LOL. Cant "contain" my excitement waiting for the next video to see where yall take it next. Sorry yall were so sick but glad yall seem to have kicked it and are doing well now. Ive said it before and Ill say it now, It amazes me how many people just want to spew negativity on people. I think jealousy causes that. They see someone happy and being successful in life and just cant stand it so they have to be hateful. Im sorry yall have to deal with that but please keep fighting the good fight. Its amazing to see what all you accomplish on the farm and also now, trying to make the area better with Dasher's Law. Much love yall.. have a great week!
  • @Born2DIY
Hey! I seen the notification and read SHIPPING CONTAINER, I hit this video so fast. I want a shipping container so bad and have been patiently waiting for y’all to start back on this project.
  • @raybo34
Seeing y'all put that wall up brought back memories of @CantContainUs putting up their first wall. Can't wait to see the end results. Awesome what y'all are doing with Dashers Law. Someone once said that a society can be judged by how well it treats its weakest members. To me that includes its animals.
