  • I ❤ you videos. Change is hard for most people. There was a study where a person has to start a new good habit and keep doing it for 90 days to get rid of a bad habit.

I think this was one of your best videos. I relate to you because I am too bubbly and filled with things I have read and insights I want to share, and often I feel I overwhelm myself and anyone I try to help because I have so much I want to say. I don’t think you have this problem obviously, I think you come off as enthusiastic and inspiring, but I do think it might not be a bad idea to experiment with breaking things up even more when you can and try to make the videos more focused on a smaller area and methodical. You could even parse it down even more and do one video for each sub-topic: subtopic #1: understanding how the behavior is getting you something you need, subtopic #2: what you might subconsciously be afraid of could change if you succeed in changing the behavior. I think for anyone who hasn’t been able to work through things in therapy yet, and there are so many reasons why people might not have been able to, this kind of information can feel overwhelming and intimidating. Whenever I watch one of your videos I tend to feel happy and inspired and like I want to get going and dive in, but then in the next moment just the thought of sitting down and trying to answer one of your prompts makes my nervous system activate into a defensive self-protective stance and I feel convinced I am too tired or that I really must lay down and read Helen Fielding instead.
  • Thank you again for your practical advice. I also believe it is important to deal first with the behaviour if we want to comit to an action. It is just more meaningful. Your prompt questions were so helpful.
