People don't understand self medicating, or reasons like bipolar. Since my opioid addiction after being an alcoholic for 33 yrs, I finally hit rock bottom at 40, and my family betrayed me, even tho I'm clean now 7 yrs, and ordained a Deacon after graduating seminary with a minor in counseling. I learned a lot about me tho, and them, and I had given 2 of them jobs a decade earlier, my sister getting her degree because of it, but they turned their backs the first sign of trouble. I cut them all off 4 months ago, and I'm finally happy and appreciating my new life sober, all by the grace and glory of God. I've even held it down in pain mgmt for 3 years
