Lyrics:
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
In the villa of Ormen, in the villa of Ormen
Stands a solitary candle, ah-ah, ah-ah
At the centre of it all, at the centre of it all
Your eyes, your eyes
Ah-ah-ah

Tfw you're dying so you decide to write a 10-minute gregorian chant hip-hop techno-jazz rock opera.

I keep coming back to this song. Genius doesn't need confirmation.

How he created this as he was dying is astounding!! Genius!
  • Man knew he was dying but instead of being afraid looked death in the eye and used him as inspiration for his final masterpiece. Absolute respect to this legend. What a noble way to go out. May he rest in piece

The most amazing final act of anyone ever...

My dad passed away from pancreatic cancer four months after this album was released. This song to me perfectly captured the emotion associated with the fight, acceptance, and transition he experienced. I'll always remember Bowie and my dad when I hear this.

no one can figure this man out, that is his allure.. He is just who he is.. cryptic and enigmatic.. no answers.. all this will mean what ever you want it too..

If you ever feel sad, know that the earth is 4.35 billion years old, and you were born at a time to listen to David.

There will never be another David Bowie.

He never looked old to me, he always looked the same age, no matter what age he was. It was a shock to me when I heard he had died. We've lost one of the greatest musicians EVER.
  • @Zampan0
He accepted his own death and made it into a piece of art. Amazing fellow.

Today, me, my dad and my younger brother went to the veterinary clinic to put the cat to sleep, because he felt bad, something with kidneys and some tumor, he was 18 years old, operations would only hurt him, because they are serious, and the chance that he would survive would be minimal, operations are expensive and there was no hope, a lot of money would have been spent and not the fact that he would have survived, and if he would He would have lived with a month and that's it, it was not worth it, so it was decided to put him to sleep, my father and I cried, hard, the cat went bad, faded for a couple of days, we said goodbye to him and went home. The cat has lived with me my whole life, I turn 16 tomorrow, have pictures and videos from my childhood with him. He was like a big brother to me. Thank you so much to David Bowie for his work, it's this song that keeps me sane for now. Listened to it and Black star by Radiohead as we drove there and realized that nothing lasts forever and everything has to be said goodbye to

Its 2024 and all this time I have thought that this is just an aberration. A meaningless dirge, the king's new clothes, and I have ignored it. It is now my turn. I have got months left to live and I can't stop playing this. It somehow gives me comfort. Not hope because there is no hope but peace and acceptance. I don't understand it or how it works. There is no jolly song that I can hum or whistle but I can face what is coming with David's help and for that I am so very grateful.

A deep, amazing album to conclude this genius’s life. He knew he was dying and decided to literally make a farewell album. So beautiful. Love Bowie.
