If they're merging local pension funds into a sovereign wealth fund, why not go all the way and create a mandatory provident fund? The liability already exists, so why not privatise and put it in the hands of the taxpayers who it is owed to.

Rankin is no intellectual, just the usual midwit standard of MP. That cliche about becoming more conservative with age is no longer empirically true.

What I can say for sure is that the IEA no longer has a place in the Conservative Party ever since Liz Truss crashed out and they’re mad about that. So glad that Mark Littlewood didn’t get that peerage
