If you are not sure about the water inlet valve being faulty, you can simply isolate the valve to the washing machine, if it no longer fills with water- you know that the water inlet valve is faulty. It is useful doing this, if you have a machine with a hot and cold supply, as it is not always obvious which valve is faulty., by isolating one valve at a time, you can find out which one is passing!

Recently, I just seem to be fixing my home appliances, but I’m sure the washing machine and tumble drier will be good for a few more years now. I hope everyone has a great Sunday 😉

A very old washer repair man once told me that if your washer is older than 5 years it's wiser to buy a new one. This was a good video on how to fix the problem. Top man.👍👍

Thank you. I’ve never had to change one. But this is very handy to know about in case the issue arises in the future. Cheers! 👍👍👍😁

I've replaced one of those on an old Samsung top loader, same principle but accessing it required a little extra work to access it, but I got there in the end. Those screens inside the inlet valve can be a problem in my area...

I normally connect everything up, and switch it on before replacing the top cover, just to check for internal leaks.

If you can, avoid Hotpoint washing machines. They are built NOT to last.
