Washing machine fills with water | replacing a washing machine inlet valve

If you are not sure about the water inlet valve being faulty, you can simply isolate the valve to the washing machine, if it no longer fills with water- you know that the water inlet valve is faulty. It is useful doing this, if you have a machine with a hot and cold supply, as it is not always obvious which valve is faulty., by isolating one valve at a time, you can find out which one is passing!

Recently, I just seem to be fixing my home appliances, but Iβm sure the washing machine and tumble drier will be good for a few more years now. I hope everyone has a great Sunday π

A very old washer repair man once told me that if your washer is older than 5 years it's wiser to buy a new one. This was a good video on how to fix the problem. Top man.ππ

I normally connect everything up, and switch it on before replacing the top cover, just to check for internal leaks.

Many thanks ππ

I've replaced one of those on an old Samsung top loader, same principle but accessing it required a little extra work to access it, but I got there in the end. Those screens inside the inlet valve can be a problem in my area...

Thank you. Iβve never had to change one. But this is very handy to know about in case the issue arises in the future. Cheers! ππππ

If you can, avoid Hotpoint washing machines. They are built NOT to last.
