RetroArch literally saves gaming on AppleTV, I now have a great handful of old classics ready to play now thanks to it. More storage is definitely needed now, either an extra slot or let us add externals.

I have Apple TV and I think it is an incredible piece of hardware and compared with other Apple products is not expensive at all. When it comes to gaming, outside Apple Arcade this platform lacks quality games (10-11 worth games and stop counting). The worst is, Apple does not care…😢 By the way, nice video. I like them all MrMacRight!

Apple arcade works but apple tv really needs access to geforce now , that is why even an old nvidia shield tv connected to the house internet, still crush in terms of library any apple tv device I mean you can play the first descent on the nvidia device but on the apple device nop ☠️

How can the 2nd gen run so much better than the 3rd gen?

Great idea for a video. The Apple TV 4K is amazing and gaming on it is really good, too. Especially when the internet connection is not good enough for cloud gaming (or where it is not available yet). Thank you!

I think the AppleTV is an unsung here, especially now with emulation it’s a great games console. I’ve already chosen this route over a ps5 and don’t regret the choice.

I think there is a good chance Apple will put the A17 Pro chip in the next Apple TV. That would make it a great little iOS game console. I also like the idea of an M-series gaming Mac, and there have been rumours of a gaming-oriented Mac for several years now.

Thank you for this video! I am a big Apple TV gamer and I still cant understand why they cut the fan in the third GEN 😢

Apple needs to support VRR on their devices

I would really like to see Apple go all out and put the money and advertising to make the Apple TV their console. Apple needs to pay for games to be on the Apple TV day and date, market it as a gaming device, and when people look up what platforms a game is on Apple should show up on any commercial/trailer at the ends just like the Sony PlayStation does!
  • Great content! I would be interested in videos about: 1) Gaming possibilities and limitations / Howto with this mentioned emulation 2) 3rd generation: is it possible to add a fan (howto?) or are there even solutions to buy in the market. And if yes then a gaming comparison between 2nd and 3rd generation with fan Only ideas 😂…

Something I’m furious about is the following. I own many paid games like Trainz Simulator 3 for example. I also did many in app purchases in this game. Meanwhile rocking an iPad Pro M4 and this game can’t be played. I’ve reached out to the developer and no response whatsoever. Recently I’ve reached out to Apple about this problem. Yet have to get an answer though. Looks like many games and apps still have to be optimized to run on M4. M4 uses ARM V9.2. It’s the first Apple Silicon chip with ARM V9.2. Everything else is V8

I don’t have either of these devices. I’ll buy a switch the moment the next version comes out. Can’t justify to buy one now as old and unchanged as it is.

If they want to win with Apple TV they have to make all iOS games and iPad games be playable on the Apple TV. Not waiting per app dev to port it. Just stream them somehow. Once they do that you won’t need Apple Arcade since even there you can’t play all games on tv. For anyone with hot Apple TV just buy small fan and put it under the Apple TV connected to usb behind TV and you are good to go.

It would be awesome if Apple just permitted external USB drives.
  • @goof3209
what if you put a fan on the 3rd gen? i'm not sure how much that would help since it's made out of plastic, but it's worth a try
  • @einerus
Apple had everything here to make an interesting tv console at good price, they just didn’t care much about that product.
