When they increased my Clonidine to 0.2 mg. I was taken to ER with systolic 288. Against medical advice I stopped taking it because I was hanging onto the walls trying to get around the house, was sleeping almost constantly. Dizziness and fatigue, along with constipation. Yesterday, I felt like I was going thru ET s shaking and trembling so bad. Last night I only took 0..5 and slept late but feeling more normal now. Be very careful with this medication.

I have resistant hypertension so most BP meds do not do a thing for me to lower it. Clonidine .1mg is the ONLY one that worked and I have no side effects other than occasional dry mouth. I lost 30 pounds BP did not go down a point, I exercise 4x a week for 45m and it did not go down one point. I don't smoke or drink alcohol either. Clonidine saved me.

Garlic and onion raw. Have them in dips, chutneys so you can have it raw. Or just chop it up finely and sprinkle over food. Use them separately or together. I have a garlic a day raw.

I will not take any medication that causes impotence, or decreases sex drive. Have left a couple on the counter of the pharmacy for that reason. Interested in blood pressure medication that increases my energy level and sex drive, not the opposite.

If you are fair skinned, you need to think twice before you take a Thiazide Diuretic for blood pressure. These increase your risk of squamous cell carcinoma. I am living proof. Prior to taking these, I had a malignant melanoma-almost 40 years ago, and a couple of basil cell carcinomas. About 1 year into taking the diuretic, I started developing squamous cell skin cancers about once every 6 months. Even though I am off of the drug, I am still developing the cancers. And this was added to lower my blood pressure a few points. Talk about the cure being worse than the disease! Mohs surgery is not fun.

I take Bisoprol fumarate 2.5mg daily. Was on Furosemide for a short period but thankfully my health provider discontinued this medication
