  • As a now retired main line driver I used to 'sign' York to Scarborough. I loved the semaphore signals and Falsgrave Box. Wonderful memories.

Stunning old video, the old line from Scarborough to Whitby was one of the most scenic in the country. If not the best. I lovs steam trains! ❤

This film is a good companion to Philip Benham’s NYMR book, free at Internet Archive.

Great video on how things where 😊 Shame the madness of politicians chopped it all up 🥲

WONDERFUL! Steam trains mean childhood memories, Will Hay in Oh Mr Porter, and the great Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson on their way to uncover some ghastly mystery on the Moor!
