The Brazilian Influences Inside Jean-Pierre Tortil’s Parisian Home | Invisible Collection

Published 2024-06-22
Ask any collector to explain how their passion began and there’s usually a piece that started it all. For interior architect, Jean-Pierre Tortil, it was a more organic process: a love of mid-century Brazilian design that developed after he moved to Rio de Janeiro.

In this episode of Why We Collect, Tortil invites us inside his striking Parisian home to explore the collection he has built with his husband, Didier Gomez — the talented architect and interior designer behind the homes of Julia Roberts, Robert de Niro and Yves Saint Laurent. Keen eyes will recognise pieces from Jorge Zalzsupin and Sergio Rodrigues, together with many pieces of Tortil’s own creation — all of which we have the joy of sharing online at Invisible Collection.

  • I am obsessed with this apartment. Not just the Beautiful pieces of furniture and art, but the entire Architectural details the marble tiles in the foyer, to the gilded, but not over powering details above the doors. I wish these videos would be longer. Will allow us to know more about the interior designer/artist and what influenced him to choose those items.

I have seen many luxury apartaments on YouTube. But this is the most refined, beautiful and modern i have seen. Why so short video? This is a place to enjoy slowly like a good chocolate ❤
  • Adorei que as peças que compõem o ambiente estão seguindo a tendência de tons terrosos. Belíssimo apartamento 😍

It would haven be so much better if this was an actual tour and we got to hear the stories about the piece and how he put it all together. This is just frustrating!!!

  • To be honest I personally don’t particularly like how this apartment is decorated. We don’t all have to admire and like the same things.
