Record Alice by Weikav | Latency, Build, Sound Test

The Record Alice is compatible with the internals of the Owlab Spring, some enthusiasts buy the weikav for the ano/e-coat colors and slap in their Tn Alice/Owlab Spring pcbs and plates. I wish the weight wasnt alu though... Back when it came out (before Hi8 and Rainy75) the Record Alice had the best anodization and e-coat quality of any less than $100 alu board at the time. Which is funny because the Sugar is well known for being the opposite, having a pretty rough feel and not as sharp with the colors looking washed out and innacurate to the renders most of the time The keycaps are Aifei Klein Blue (or PYGA Blue), its the V3 mold version with the fully doubleshot insides instead of partially doubleshot like in the V2. Absolutely beautiful keycaps btw and super affordable for doubleshot "abs" (it's an ABS/PBT blend, you can tell when comparing spacebar to pure PBT and pure ABS spacebar, it sounds like in the middle of the road between the two)

I was genuinely surprised by the plate-mounted stabs, they are really good and smooth. I have a Tn Alice (or Tony Alice) too, and mixed the two together. The record alice is far better imho. I don't care about the knob, i have plenty other boards with it, and wireless support is not for me since i use my diy usb cables that i built myself

Hi! I thought you were the perfect person to ask this, I've been meaning to lube my switches however Krytox is not available in my region. Do you know if I can use multi-purpose grease instead? Any chance it could damage my springs or eat away the plastic parts?

I bought this board because of this video, but because i can’t get hmx macchiato in my country, so i just put oil kings, and sadly it doesn’t sound this great. Do You have any other switch that u recommend for this board?

Hi there! Keeb enthusiast (beginner here), I just built my own Record Alice Keyboard but I had my switch for the CAPSLOCK key mounted to the left instead of to the right like yours. Now i can’t fit my key cap on it 😂. Can I remove the switch and mount it to the right side instead? Or is it irreversible?

I'd like the arrow keys to be placed to the right of the right shift in stead of left

The sound is amazing, but no 2.4 connection and no knob demotes it to ASMR only

How good the build quality and sound compared to HI75 or Hi8? Didn't like HI75 design, HI8 not available, Weikav Record is cheap and beautiful, but Im worried 65% will make it annoying
