The Nondual Teachings of Jesus - Homecoming

Published 2020-05-21
One of the most famous stories that Jesus told was the parable of the prodigal son. It is also the most misinterpreted. In this episode today I show how through this story Jesus was talking about what he called the kingdom of God, and which I call unitive awareness or Christian nonduality.

Always worth the reminder. Such a beautiful pearl. Thanks Marshall x
  • Very good nondual explanation. I would like to add to the position of the eldest son: the story shows not only that wholeness can not be squandered like the youngest son seemed to have done, but it can not be earned by any doing either like the eldest son tried to all those years slaving. Wholeness, the nondual kingdom of god, can only be missed in our perception by ignorance like both sons did. But it is always there and there is only that. The only way is to realize this truth and both sons did by understanding the unconditional love the father showed both of them in the way he reacted to the return of the missing son. In a way, both sons were missing, one was lost in the world and the other was lost at home. Both came home by realizing their true nature when they understood the love of the father correctly.

I am so happy to have found you!! I had the epiphany- after leaving fundamentalist Christianity and studying many other texts and scriptures- that Jesus was a non-dualist. And that the period fof his life from 12 to 29 was spent teaching, learning and healing in the east!! Thank you for putting this knowledge out here.

I really like this explanation of yours! Human beings are born to be Sons (includes Daughters, for brevity) and heirs of 'God'; to ENJOY ALL THAT 'GOD' IS, IN ITSELF and ALL THAT 'IT' CAN GIVE. However, humanity misses this, by pursuing pleasure in earthly things; just like the two brothers did. This parable was quite appropriate. Understanding it (the way you have explained) is the problem; and that is why your podcast is a godsend!

Most importantly: You can go home any time. Even now while incarnate. The only thing holding us back is guilt from an over-inflamed ego.
  • You are a great representative of Christianity. I usually consider myself at odds with Christianity but a little less now. Youre bridging the gap for me. Thanks

Bravo! Keep sharing. There is much that is wrong with theology, nothing wrong with Christ.
