The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel (voice of Stephanie Beatriz). The fact that the family forgets about Mirabel's existence once Antonio's miracle comes always broke my heart.

"I'm fine, I am totally fine"
"I'm not fine, I'm not fine"
I felt that in my soul
  • It literally only occured to me now that Mirabelle end up doing all the things she wishes she could do in this song. Her actions end up moving the mountains, causing new flowers to grow, healing her family, and showing her family a new way forward. That's so cool!

I love when Mirabel says “open your eyes”. That is what abuela says when they are getting their gifts. But Mirabel says it as in “realize how you’re treating me”

this is just sad but Mirabel is such a great main character. she's been so strong all those years, and trying so hard to earn her family's approval. i wanna give her a hug in this musical number.

Fun fact- This song is actually written in a totally different beat than the other songs of the movie to show how Mirabel is an outsider in her own family, not singing in the same tempo

I honestly don't understand why Mirabel is such an underrated character in the fandom. Of course I and we love all the cast, but actually, it's insane how Mirabel is such an relatable character, the most of all for me. It's personally the first time it happens to me with a disney movie. Every time I hear this song it makes me emotional and even tear up because of how much I feel Mirabel, and I think a lot of people can relate to her as well : the movie does a really great job about making the main character so relatable about feeling not good enough. God I can't even express how I love this movie, I live for it.
  • This song littteraly explains what being left out feels like
  • The way she says "I'm not fine" she sounded like she was gonna burst into tears which hurts me. Like Mirabel is the first ever Disney protagonist I relate to in a LONG time. She just wants to make her family proud even tho she doesn't have a gift and just want their approval and she tries so hard. I adore her so much and this song is so criminally underrated cause this song many people can relate to and its so beautiful.
  • “Can’t keep down this unspoken invisible pain, always waiting on a miracle” hits too hard
  • @wutadam
I like how, instead of time around Mirabel being completely frozen, it's slowed down greatly, to show that all of these thoughts are running through her head a million miles a minute.
  • @lunayoshi
I think anyone who has been the "disappointment" in the family can relate to Mirabel. All your siblings and cousins can do so much, but you're... just you, and you feel judged, as if lesser than. The one who didn't finish college. The one who didn't get all A's in high school. The one who didn't make Varsity. The one who didn't get scholarships. Mirabel is so painfully relatable, it's why I love this movie so much.
  • It's so sad that this song is underrated compared to the other ones, this has such a beautiful message and I wish it would be in the spotlight like every other songs from the movie
  • This song is ignored just like Mirabel’s family ignores her 😭 it’s such a good song! It deserves more hype

stop telling me how popular the song is now when i wrote this when it had less views
  • The voice actress was literally in labor when she recorded this. The downright unstoppable power of this person.
  • @marmusic8664
"I can't take another night up in my room, waiting on a miracle." hit close to home
  • @andrukentt
who would've thought that Mirabel, THE MAIN CHARACTER, would be so underrated by the fandom. everyone loves Camilo, Isabella, etc. but always forget she's such a perfectly built and relatable character. Mirabel is such a queen, I love her, she deserves so much more.
  • @TheKoontzy
I just realized this song summaries everything that happens. Mirabel does move a mountain, she heals the family, she leads her sister to grow new trees/flowers, and she builds a whole new house for them. So she does everything she says she would do for her miracle. She even opens the eyes of everyone of the issues in the house. The song tells you everything.
  • @beanibones
Fun fact: due to COVID, the voice actors had to record their lines from home, and Stephanie Beatriz was actually pregnant at the time. During this song, she actually went into labour (and powered through it), and the director(s) at the end of the song mentioned how she managed to portray such pain in her voice - they didn't know her water had just broke mid-song.
  • Once you understand her purpose she is actually the most important madrigal out of the entire family. She is meant to take Abuela’s place and continue caring for the miracle, the village and her family’s gift. At the end it becomes her house as she brought back the miracle and she is at the front of her family.
