Here's my Santorini Diorama Build: • Santorini Diorama DIY - Build a REALI...
In this tutorial DIY, I show you how to create a realistic stucco texture using plaster, mod podge, acrylic paint, and water! This is super quick, easy, and cheap to make, and it looks fantastic for your miniature builds! I simply spread the mixture onto my piece of xps foam, and stipple it with a foam brush to make the texture.

This is fantastic. I've been fussing with a stucco treatment on a diorama for awhile, and never thought to use a foam brush. I'd been testing with natural sponge and crumpled paper towel but they didn't create a fine enough texture. Off to stucco some tiny walls now!

Thank you so much for sharing these skills:) Your channel is the only place where you show the actual tools you use which helps determine what to purchase at the store. Please make more tutorials like this. I really appreciated!

Great use of the foam - I really like the textures you were able to produce using the foam - Nice work! 🙂

I have finally got around to watching this video, and it was totally outstanding, your whole process was actually very easy to follow, best regards from Australia 👌👍👌👍

Excellent! Thank you.

I am amazed at the difference between the first and second finishes. You’re good! Could you please do a tutorial on how to be patient enough to create things like you do😂

Can you leave it outside ? I want to make a small house replica of my own home and place it in my patio

Your videos have been really helpful! One could just use any other acrylic color in the mixture to paint, no? If I wanted to paint a blue wall for example, or is it better to paint afterwards, does it still hold the texture? Keep up the good work!

These look great! Do you need to leave the piece to dry before your go back over with the second pass of heavier areas to create the second style texture?
-
Can I substitute the Plaster of Paris for cornstarch? Thank you in advance :)
-
Would food coloring work or do I have to paint over it?
-
Can I use modeling paste instead? Please reply, I hv been wondering lol

Hello Mr Smol, I saw the Santorini Dio and it was very good. I'd like to add one more suggestion for a texture. It's called a 'knockdown' finish. Apply stucco, pull up some big 'points, spikey areas' of it and gently knock down the high spots with a slightly dampened spackle knife dragged over them. This produces a larger pattern with fine and rough areas. Thanks for sharing all you do. I like the modelling content. I'm picking up some quick easy tips. See you soon. Michael V.
