Kurt Cobain once primaturely left a concert in London to see The Pixies who played nearby. Btw. Cobain left a Nirvana concert ...

Without these guys there would be no Nirvana. Kurt said they were his biggest influence and for Smells Like Teen Spirit he said he was trying to make a pixies song.

This is so good, it's hard to find versions of them playing this live where he doesn't seem completely bored and burnt out from playing it. Plus the original bassist is sorely missed these days.

One day I was scuba diving in the Caribbean and I realized I was living this song

This song makes me want to violently fight with my imaginary friend.

this song sounds so much more end 90s than end 80s.
  • my wife to be was at this gig....a woman of taste...and she ended up with me!
  • @Kruppt808
I never knew this was an 80s song holy shit this has aged well😲😲😲😲😲

Considering the influence Pixies had on such big bands, they didn't get the attention they deserved. Like they influenced Nirvana, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and The Strokes. Such an amazing band

no gimmicks. no "image." just really great music!
  • @spidirr1
Outstanding performance of one of the best songs ever written, period. Most underrated band ever.
  • @migrantson
My mind is blown that this is an 80s era song. Ahead of their time!!!
  • @ferna2294
Real talent and no bullshit. Simply music. The 80´s were, without a doubt, the weirdest and most experimental decade for music.
  • @chevy2599
I love this song. This is probably the best recorded live version out there. Frank's vocals on this is absolutely phenomenal.

30 years later and this is still a life changing performance.

I'm 30 now when we were 16 we based our band on The Pixies. They were the best times of my life. Thanks for the music.
  • the pixies are fantastic. I have a lot of wonderful memories with them. My late husband and I saw them in Spokane Washington. we drove from Missoula Mt. to see them. It was well worth it.....
