Because today is Kurt Cobain's Birthday, I made a "tribute" video to him. It's Where Did You Sleep Last Night, this song is a really old folk song apparently that Nirvana covered from Leadbelly, who covered that from who knows. It's a great song, it's probably my favorite Nirvana song. R.I.P Kurt and Happy Birthday!

  • I have had the honor to meet kurt in 1989 around christmas. We were in Detroit, backstage at a venue and we got so bloody drunk on gentleman jack cause it had just come out at the time. But i remember one thing that kurt told me. He said," always end your worries before they get worse". And now i think i know what that means

Is anyone else sad that you'll never get to go one of his concerts? 😭

Such an amazing voice. For anyone that can't tell or didn't know, he sings with his throat, which basically destroys your vocal cords over time. And he trained his voice to sing that way. Sorry but that's badass.

Ok I know no one is gonna read this but I need to get my emotion out my dad used to listen to this and I still know the melody from my youth, i really miss you dad, I hope the after life is good
  • This is breaking my heart. My good friend loved Nirvana and Kurt so much that he moved from Florida to Seattle when he was homeless just so he could visit Kurts bench. A few months after he got to Seattle, he was murdered. I miss my friend so much. He loved this song. He was a guitar (or like he would say a "gee-tar") player. I think it made him happy though to be in Kurts city.

It's sad that some us will never see him in person

I was born 8 months after Kurt’s passing, but grew up listening to Nirvana. And only now that I’m his age (27) am I really deeply feeling every song
  • As someone who knows too well what he was going threw with drugs and an extremely toxic relationship this song hits especially hard for people like us and is why he went 150% on this and You Know You're Right. The latter especially, he was a genius with a headache some would say. Im glad he doesnt have to feel the pain of this shitty world anymore. Rip brother.

I'm having a major Nirvana nostalgia moment rn & this song will forever be my favorite of their whole body of work & of the Unplugged session. The melancholy then the fury in Kurt's voice ♡

When he's screaming, it brings tears to my eyes. It's so full of pain and emotion.

For those who don't know this is a take on "In The Pines", a song that dates back to at least 1870's Appalachia and probably back to centuries old England, like how Knoxville Girl goes back to 1650 England and a song called The Bloody Miller

Love that breathe he takes at the end before singing "the whole night through" his eyes are shot...it was from the heart and raw..

I can feel the pain and hatred from the song, it almost makes you feel like you're in his place atm when you listen to the song

I was diagnosed bipolar and a lot of his lyrics start to make sense to me as I gain self consciousness. I love you Kurt.
