Lock picking: Abus 90/50 and a T-34-85 battle tank!

Published 2016-05-30
Tbc, but I want to clarify the Stompie story, because my narration is terrible, give a bit more history on the tank itself, explain the compass project and hold my hands up to quite a bit of editing (except in the lock picking section, which was all one take)

By the way, it turns out Stompie is a T-34-85 tank, which is a slightly later model to the T34. I recommend the following as great videos on the T-34-85:

   • Inside the Chieftain's Hatch: T-34-85...   - part 1 explores the outside of a T-34-85

   • Inside the Chieftain's Hatch: T-34-85...   - part 2 shows the inside of a T-34-85

nice to see the old girl again! one of my favourite spots in the whole city. I used to cycle past it almost daily when I was a courier! the night before I left London I spent the evening with my best friend getting drunk sitting on that tank!! great times! thanks for sharing

Thank you Doc Scurlock for watching and commenting on my wood carving video. To return the favor I am very happy to be the 6th person to like your video on the Stompie story. You have real video making talents. Great Marketing skills, best of luck to you. Lee Noring

I really like the presentation. You take a completely unrelated thing of interest, and use it as a means of introduction for your hobby. I've never really done it myself, but I can totally appreciate the puzzle-like aspect to your skill. You make a top-quality video with well-crafted dialogue, and you have quite an interesting locale to exploit.  I would expect that this channel should grow nicely once it's better discovered. I wish you luck! Hey, maybe do one while on the London Eye. That would be cool ;)

It is such a beautiful lock, not the easiest one to pick. Great picking and thank you for the additional information about the tank.

Beautiful lock and nice fight to get it open. I love the end where you used the compass and the map - that was great fun, too. Thanks a lot for your very nice videos :-)

Did you correct for the difference between magnetic north and "map" north?
  • Hi - I'm currently making a film about this tank and was wondering whether you'd give me permission to use excerpts from your video? My channel is 123,000 subs and by way of thanks I'll promote your channel in the video description. Look forward to your reply. Mark

6:58 Was (it has since had the gun moved forwards) it really aimed at a hospital? Talk about bad aim.
