What a joy seeing two people who get visibly uncomfortable at the idea that someone genuinely likes them.

Man this conversation about him and his baby playing baseball at 5 in the morning just made me smile from ear to ear the whole time. You can hear it in his voice how much he's enjoying it. ❤

i love how sincerity is like pulling teeth for comedians. it physically hurts them to sit with a genuine emotion and not do a bit to ease the tension.

"You are my absolute hero" You just know it feels so so so good to grow up looking up to Conan and then working with him and being his friend

There is literally nothing as adorable and entertaining as John describing baseball at 5:10 AM with Malcom.

Losing John to drugs would have been devastating. I'm thrilled he has found real happiness.
  • @victoryak86
The chemical composition of Conan and Mulaney is comedy gold.
  • I love seeing John get as much joy out of being with his son as we’ve all gotten from his comedy over the years. It’s really cool to see and hear him be genuinely joyful knowing his struggles. Way to go John!
  • My wife and I can't have kids. Listening to these two and John's stories about his child encapsulates everything that I would have wanted in having a child. Also, having been a fan of his for so long and having had some of the same struggles, I cannot help but feel joy for him because how can you not??!!

Well, I confess, I just teared up when I had the thought that we have those people who conducted that intervention to thank for these stories about him with his son.

Conan has this smile on his face listening John’s stories about his son. He is so happy that John’s in a good place
  • i could watch john mulaney do impressions of his son for DAYS. he's so naturally funny and a joy to witness

I loved this segment because Im pretty sure Conan is a father figure to Mulaney, and Conan asking Mulaney to be Real at the end is really a dad saying his kid that he doesn't have to act like a clown to be loved.
  • @Burton82190
My favorite part is the genuine offense that Conan takes to John asking him not to do a bit.

John Mulaney is a gift to us all. I once ran into him and Neal Brennan on the street in Montreal — it made my night! I’m delighted that he is finding fatherhood so salutary.

John has cemented his place as one of the absolute best CONAF guests. There are very few people who make Conan laugh harder. He's hilarious but he also wants to engage in deeper conversations, while still doing bits. Simply magnificent. No wonder he's been on three times now, such amazing chemistry.

John probably has such amazingly funny stories with him and his son. I could listen to him for hours just telling us about their adventures.
  • @benzaiten933
Conan and John are both so enmeshed in bits, they just can't stop.

My nephew used to stare out the window and wait for the garbage truck for hours. I hope garbage men know how admired they are by that demographic.
  • @masterxyr
that 'heoahoehe how kind' from John was such an amazing lightning fast way of destroying a kind and genuine moment haha
