We are in a different situation. We no long have any Gas or diesel vehicles. Got rid of all of them. We have a Lightening, a Tesla Model Y and a Chevy Bolt. We use the Blue Oval Network for the Lightening. I charge my Lightening at Tesla Superchargers, Electrify America, Shell Recharge and EV Connect. Just plug it in and the truck talks to the server and it charges. No issues besides an occasional out of service charger. We are lucky because we have lots of choices so distance between chargers are not an issue. I usually stop when I get down below 100 miles if on a trip. I go in have a bite to eat or go in a store and get a drink, come out and go. I also use free chargers whenever they are available. Once you make the switch you get used to it. For our needs EV's are just better than internal combustion engine vehicles. I have not bought gas in a long time. Most days we just charge at home.
  • I've had mine since 9/22. Same experience as yours. Great truck. The people who are most critical are people who don't own them. Most haven't driven.

Glad to see a mechanic giving an EV a fair shake. Great video guys!

I’ve had my 22 lightning platinum since June 22 and currently have 31,700 miles on it. Best truck I’ve ever owned hands down. I also have a 24 platinum powerstroke and a 22 KR powerstroke and love those…but nothing drives as pleasant and cheaply as my Lightning!
  • I've had my lightning for 5 month and love it for my daily driving around town. I still have my muscle cars for the weekend and a hybrid suv for our road trips.
  • I just purchased the Lariat, and I love it. It's just fun to drive.
  • @tscoff
I own one too and I’ve owned it for 4 months. I like mine and it’s a good truck.

Well said! It's not because you have an electric vehicule that you can't love ICE vehicule!

Make sure you change the blinker fluid regularly....very important!

i like the F150 lighting they have a clean look about them especially in white good to see you still like too because you here a lot of bad things about it, being a mechanic it says a lot
  • That is great info and I'm at a stage in my life where I don't want to have these massive payments or cash outlay The cost of vehicles are insane !

Also in Toronto great video I needed this. How often would you say you would go to a fast charger and it was offline. I guess you were using Flow and Electrify Canada?

Great review! Did you pre-condition the truck in winter? (set it up to warm from the app while plugged in?) It heats up the battery and gives you more range in colder temperatures. So you leave with a heated cabin, warmed up battery and full battery. Did you ask if a plow version is being planned? From my experience with the Lightning, the slower you go the better the efficiency (under 50mph). Being heavy and instant torque, it has a lot of power and weight behind it.

Pro tip: bring a gas powered, 240V generator and a few jerry cans to charge anywhere, you're welcome 👍
  • @sooocheesy
How much money do you save a month on gas? I know you said $250 every two days so that's about ~$3K/mo assuming you were just doing that on weekdays? That easily covers the payment on the Lightning and then some..
  • @mcyclonegt
Fully jammed? Is that the Canadian version of fully loaded?
