I love my lightning. I've owned mine for over a year. Now 20k miles later and I have jave no regrets. I charge at home with a level 2 charger mostly. From 0-100% costs about 10 bucks. It really is an awesome ride.

I’ll be honest. When you live in a place like California, where it is not uncommon to see gas nearing $7 to $8 Per gallon during Summer and fall months, even the inflated electricity we pay, it still saves driving this thing. I do have one, but also have a Duramax Diesel 3.0, which is excellent on fuel. But for distances with 100-150 miles, the Lightning can be a great option.

I'mma be honest you shouldn't have an electric car if you don't have a house or somewhere to charge it at home that just sounds like a bad idea lol

When Scotty said, "It fell off" reminds me of Ron White's act when he was talking about how Sears Automotive Center did the same thing and forgot to tighten one of his wheels. He said the same thing but added an expletive to his sentence.
  • Many people own pickup trucks and tow once or twice a year. If they can charge at home, buy it. Or wait until it has a NACS port and 250kW speed so that it can be charged at any Tesla Supercharger, which is very very reliable and fast.

I work on a ford lot myself. We got one in July of this year and in November, it’s still here! We at one point had 2 of them on the used lot that were trade ins (one was a 22 and the other was a 23). We sell the regular f150s like hotcakes but not the lightning.

My mother once drove home 10 miles from the garage with loose lug nuts. “My car is shaking!” Gee, I wonder why! I tightened them up for her and I don’t think she ever went back there.

I love my 2023 Maverick Basic (LX) Hybrid. Inexpensive and 40+ MPG so far in mixed driving.

At least the Ford dealerships are consistent... I took my 2015 F-250 in for its oil change and tire rotation. When I got home, just for giggles, I put my torque wrench on a wheel and all the lug nuts were torqued to 80 ft-lbs. Spec is 160 ft-lbs for my vehicle. When I brought this to the service manager's attention, I got no apology, only the explanation that they must have used an F-150 torque tube instead of the F-250 one. He said if I brought it in he'd be glad to re-torque all the lug nuts. Duh???? Why would I do that if I'm checking my vehicle with my own torque wrench? I've never been back.

🎵 You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel... 🎵

If you have a Tesla Model 3 and charge it at home in your garage during off-peak hours, it costs $9 to go 300 miles.
  • @JCT442
So I see this truck is registered in Pennsylvania with two inspection stickers. One is for the inspection and the other, being an electric vehicle, is an "emissions exempt" sticker, for which the driver had to pay $19 to get. Only in Pennsylvania, do we have to pay for emission exempt stickers on electric vehicles, or any vehicle driven less than 5K annually... what a state.
  • Honda is cancelling their EV efforts with GM. Toyota exec says EV market is not where it's at for a profit.
  • @joshl5658
Idk how anyone can be fine with losing 100 miles of range.. paying for 300 mi and only getting 200 mi out of it. That's like if someone stole 1/3 of your gas tank after you filled it up!
  • @willb3018
I have three cars. 15 years old, 21 years old, and 25 years old. All well maintained and run fine. Buy and hold as long as you can probably does more for the environment by not getting new cars every 6 or 7 years than all the crackpot electrification nuts. If you look at the life cycle of electrics from mining of lithium through disposal of dead batteries, probably not much of a friendly environmental impact overall.
  • I really do not like the crew cabs that are so common now days. Just a simple bench seat is fine. Years ago, I had a '79 F150 4x4 with a 400ci V-8, & man, that drank gas like no tomorrow... Love your videos, Thank you so very much :-)
  • You make some excellent points that as an owner and car reviewer and content creator I can attest to the truth to loosing half range when towing and loosing half range when it's freezing cold out
  • @mplslawnguy3389
The fact that they have the ability to shut the truck off on you should make everyone uneasy, and if you believe that the only time they would do that is if you didn't make a payment, you've got another thing coming with the way our government is going. Creepy. People better wake up and start pushing back against this stuff.
