Love how Scott openly admits he won the sweepstakes and then goes on for an extra 10 minutes questioning if anyone won them.

Hello, Scott. CEO of DANIMALS in 2008, here. Just wanted to say it’s good to see you again. You were the best kid to win our sweepstakes by a landslide. We had a plaque on the wall commemorating your visit and regularly reminisced of the unprecedented joy you brought to the halls of the DANIMALS headquarters. Thank you for the impact you made on this humble little CEO’s life. I wish you were my son

My wife actually entered that HSM music video sweepstakes. Granted, she didn’t win, but she got a confirmation from Disney that she would receive from a selection of prizes, from which she selected. About 5 months later, she got a letter from Ashley Tisdale, who played her favorite character, Sharpay Evans in the movies. She has that letter framed in our bedroom

Can confirm Scott won the sweepstakes. I personally saw him on the “wall of danimals winners” when I took a tour of the danimals factory

I actually was there when Scott won the danimals sweepstakes. He was crying tears of joy hanging with Dylan and Cole. I even heard Cole say “one day you are gonna be as famous as me”..

I won a Disney/Lunchables sweepstakes ~2001. I remember my parents being shocked because they assumed it would be rigged. But yeah they sent me every single Disney Channel original movie that existed up until that point (could be little kid brain but I wanna say it was ~100 movies). All of them were VHS so my prize didn't age well but it's still my favorite fun fact to share during an icebreaker. :)

My theory was that all the winners had to sign non disclosure agreements. But seeing how Scott is talking about it, I guess not. Congrats Scott!

I won a Disney channel contest!!! (Not one like those but here's my story) Disney used to have a part of their website called Disney Create where you could make art and post it for people to see. They used to host contests like every other week, and I entered one where you make a comic about Phineas and Ferb having the best day ever. And I won! Disney sent me an art tablet as a prize which was cool, and I later learned that Dan and Swampy (the show's creators) helped pick the winner! It may not be one of the big contests, but now someone else has said on the internet, "I won a Disney Channel contest" :)

It’s a good thing we finally know who won the Danimals sweepstakes. That’s for revealing that and congratulations, Scott!

I just love how Scott is so humble. He could have used the fact that he won the Danimals Sweepstakes for clout when he first started his channel, but did he? No! He waited until he already had built up a following, earned solely on his merit and creativity, before telling everyone that he was the winner. What a guy!

You caught me Scott. I won the Disney Dog Sweepstakes. Bob Iger came to my house and handed me a twenty pound bag of dog food (we had no dog). He was in sweats and smelled like alcohol. After that he then invited himself inside, ate a can of soup, and then called me a hound before leaving in a ford mini van. This is completely real and to prove it I pinky promise.
  • Hey Scott! My mom was a professional sweepstaker from 1998-2004. She won over 100 trips, 6 cars, a PS2 (god did I flip out that day), and many other things. We once had won so much free Snapple that we ended up hating it lol. We never won a Disney sweepstakes bc they were usually national entries, but local sweepstakes and Coca-Cola were our bread and butter. Oh yeah and she also won me a Wrigley field experience where I met Sammy Sosa (and all the other Cubs). That was a weird day. This was a great video!

I won a sweepstakes that was not sponsored by Disney but was Disney "adjacent" I guess. The sweepstakes was to fly to Hollywood to go to a small Jonas Brothers concert at the Roxy. I got to meet the Jonas Brothers before the concert, and my dad and I got to stand front center right by Joe's mic. Joe held my hand at times during some songs. It was literally all my 13-year-old self could ever ask for.

In 2012, my wife and I won a trip to Jamaica 🇯🇲 in a McDonalds Monopoly contest. We've told a few people and their reaction is the same each time: "Oh neat. I never knew anyone actually won those." I think part of the reason why people dont talk about those for the clout is because its actually kind of hard to find/target the audience who cares about that stuff the way you can with this channel.

I recently read through the rules of a sweeptakes contest I entered and one thing that stood out to me was that you had to reply within 24 hours of being notified of winning or else you would forfeit your prize. I don't think its crazy to think that parents might get the notification, think its a scam and not reply or just not reply within the allotted time frame and miss the prize.
  • As a winner of the Jetix Summer Quest for 1,000 Prizes Sweepstakes, I can confirm they were real. I won an iPod Nano. I remember getting up on random summer days as a wee little lad. It was very early in the morning and I would force my mom to enter the codes because I was a little rule-follower. Each time she’d tell me I wasn’t going to win. Around September or October of that year, I had completely forgotten about the competition but a package came in the mail with a letter from Disney congratulating me. I still have the iPod somewhere. The letter, I’m not sure (believe it or not 8 y/o’s generally don’t care about letters). I do remember that they told me explicitly that the iPod was worth ~$150 which I thought was weird.

I remember winning some barbie sweepstakes. They sent me an inflatable photo frame and I got to meet barbie herself. I thought it was a fever dream until I actually found the photo frame in my garage.

Fun fact: the "no purchase necessary" line is there as a loophole to gambling laws. Since sweepstakes can be classified as raffles, which are a form of gambling, giving the option to sign up for free legally clears the company from lawsuits. They intentionally make entering for free as convoluted as possible, but the option is there.
