edit: macaques voice actor, billy kametz, passed away on june 9th. may he rest in peace, thank you for your amazing work. context on something: the bird at 27:03 is macaque (youll see him transform into it after) its very subtle and i missed it the first time, im assuming he followed mei after she flew off, then when nezha and mk were trying to get wukong back he was scoping out the area and waiting for the perfect time to get mk to mei (and also the mayor to the rest of them)... (also i have to apologize for 27:22 i made a mistake there ^^; i didnt realize i cut him off while he was talking lol. it would take so long to rerender this though so... just ignore that error. he says "i know a guy who might be able to help.")

i just realized that macaque's whole power is based on manipulation of shadows which is really fitting because he's always felt he's been living in Wukong's shadow

I like how he doesn’t disrespect the side characters by not remembering their names he’s just such a cool villain character

Macaque claiming he's not a hero. Leaps to intercept a punch, knowing he's not strong enough to overcome Sun Wukong. And then catches the innocent girl that LBD had possessed and took her down to safety.

Rest in Peace, Billy Kametz your portrayal of Macaque was the main reason i got into monkie kid, your talent will never be forgotten.

Billy Kametz gave life to many characters I treasure and adore but most of all, he was a light that was snuffed out far too soon. My father had a battle with colon cancer as well, and though he is still around, my heart nonetheless aches for those such as Billy that weren't so lucky. May he rest in peace.

Macaque is definitely a cool character. Every moment he appears in has been nothing short of awesome!

Macaque's character is so interesting. He's a villain, but he's also helping MK the entire time. He gloats and he goads specifically to get MK to reach deeper into his powers, to learn who he is. It's so fascinating to watch. The whole time he's working for the Lady Bone Demon, he's also working against her. MK lost his powers again, and the Lady Bone Demon wants him back? Okay, let's torment him a little, just enough to get him to unlock his powers again. Surely the LBD can't fault him for being overconfident? He didn't think they'd be able to escape so quickly. It's not his fault for not ending the fight in the first hit.

I didn’t know Macaque’s VA passed away last month. My condolences to his family. His role as Macaque was played beautifully. On a side note, Macaque’s interactions with MK are the complete opposite of Monkey King. Sure he’s brash and impatient,but he acts like the mentor MK really needed
