“Play rugby union and see the world, play rugby league and see Wigan…”
  • @pdaddy4898
Most close-minded blokes around. Both games are good to watch and alot of people actually watch Super Rugby and Nrl.

It maybe a dead sport in Australia But not in the rest of the world

Imagine 4 grown men arguing about what a 19 year old is doing with his life 😂

Also, the hilarity of saying Australia are bad at rugby union because the Northern hemispere is running international rugby. That they used to run the ball, so Australia were good. Ok Kenty, why are NZ so good, then? This bloke reminds me of some guy in a pub who just rants that much that people just nod at him and let him go 😀

There is a world outside australia...believe me...where some sports are more popular...pay more...attracts money more...even if you find it boring...let him be...do not be a bias..

Wish there was a representative on the panel that could give a rugby perspective. I love rugby league but to act like he has left the best thing ever is a bit of a farce. The response from the ARU chairman was 100% correct. 1. Kent mentioned the bore of the game in the Northern Hemisphere which clearly shows he is out of touch because at the moment they are leading the charge with the expansive and entertaining rugby we want to see. 2. The international game is SO FAR ahead of rugby league even a blind man could see that. 3. The ceiling for potential money for rugby players especially star players is through the roof compared to rugby league. Overseas clubs have the money and location attraction to offer more opportunities to players post their super rugby careers/international. Location one is very important too because the super league clubs aren't exactly must see/live locations either. To that point, you have NRL and then Super League. Done. That's all your gonna get out of your career. 4. Rugby league is definitely one my favorite games to play and watch but if we look at the actual statistics when considering the world - ITS DAY AND NIGHT difference between rugby and league. Rugby is certainly a world-wide sport and you just can't say that for league. 5. Longevity. You'll be able to make a decent career out of rugby over league any day. Plenty of opportunities are there for talented individuals even at an old age around the world. 6. Seeing the World. You actually will get to ply your trade in the greatest places and in the best arenas the world has to offer. ----------------------------- Btw, no person in their right mind would turn down 1.6 million a SEASON lol so do your thing Sua'li'i. Looking forward to seeing how you do in rugby, enjoy the payrise.
  • Don't know if kenty watched the six nations, but France, Ireland, Scotland & Italy all play open running rugby. League is big in Australia, NO where else
  • @nichobee
Rugby is not a dead sport ffs, the game goes beyond Australia
  • Plenty of history over the years with NRL players leaving to ARU like Wendell Sailor, Lote Tuqiri, Mat Rogers, Israel Folau, Marika Koroibete, Timana Tahu, Suliasi Vunivalu.. Joseph Sua'ali'i isn't the first and he's definitely not the last.
  • As much as I want the best players in NRL, the union World Cup is super special and surely something players would want to try once
  • @jesuscuzz7299
Union these days is so atrocious that I'd rather watch netball, But with that being said I can't blame Joseph for securing the bag$
  • The fact is, it’s the international aspect that attracts players to union, look at the embarrassment that was the RLWC, now look at the Six Nations, at the end of the day the Wallabies are the Wallabies and if you think you can seriously make an impact in a Bledisloe or a World Cup, you’re gonna go at it
  • has Kenty watched a NZ side play? running spectacle at incredible pace...
  • @xxxnazkat2875
what would kenty know about rugby union in the northern hemisphere 😂 has he seen a game of French rugby union
  • This panel needs to understand Samoan culture and the philosiphy of Fa Samoa. If Joseph subscribes to this philosiphy, he's determined to look after his family, and has a finite career, so needs to make as much money as he can to ensure his grand parents, parents, siblings, his own children and grand children are taken care of with homes, food and education. The world isn't exactly getting cheaper so good luck to him - I hope he stays healthy and happy over his long career.
  • this is exactly what rugby union wants and we are falling into the trap. couldn’t believe that kenty said folau did only alright in union
  • @npd6225
Kentys right about 1 thing - the game is over policed. I remember Eddie Jones saying the ball is in play for around 30mins yet the game takes close to 2.5 hours to complete. Crazy.
