  • Gus sounding like such a sook, as a rooster supporter knowing he's leaving im still thrilled to see him play over the next 2 seasons.
  • Let the guy live. There's more to life than the NRL. Life changing money for his family, a new challenge and I'm sure he will be back one day.

Gus is carrying on like a spoilt kid. The fact is Sualli is a superb rugby player and league player. When he switches back to rugby he will be an amazing playing on the world stage for the wallabies. Bring it on!!
  • A lot of people forget that Suaalii is an absolute gun at both sports. He went to Kings in Parramatta to play rugby before choosing league, I'd imagine because it's a more secure option for teenagers looking to turn pro. He still has essentially two seasons to win a premiership, play Origin and more test footy before going to union for the Lions tour in 2025 and World Cup in 2027. If he comes back to league in 2028, he'll only be 25 and Tedesco may be retired by then, so he can get that Roosters fullback jersey. I love seeing players try to create these opportunities for themselves - if they're good enough, like SBW, club's and codes will accomodate and it's fascinating to watch.

Gus sounds Like a landlord tryna kick a Tennant out before their lease is up because they've decided not to renew it hahha
  • @bremCZ
Sua'ali'i has done everything as well as possible here. He's telegraphed his intentions early so the club can do whats best for it and allowing rep squads the chance to evaluate his selection. I think that attitude means he is deserving of selection in any team that'll have him.
  • The important point here is that unlike may NRL stars of the past who have torn up contracts to make immediate moves to other codes or other NRL teams, this young man is prepared to honor his contracts and work them through. This shows integrity beyond his years and should be respected not ridiculed. It is really sad to see Gus taking the stance he has.
  • Siebs is a great addition for this bit. He can explain it in a way the others simply can't. Nice to see Nine being forced to do this a bit more with Rugby in the same stable. League has taken way more than it's lost, win some lose some
  • @willm376
Why not just be happy for a young man thats being rewarded for his hard work
  • @kingpaula8134
Can someone explain to me exactly what this kid did wrong????? $350k per year NRL or 1.6M a season Rugby, We gonna miss you playing league but do what’s best for you and for your family . All the Best Sualii

Suaalii is a young professional athlete, he must do what's best for his career prospects you never know when things can end with injury in contact sports. Suaalii has a contract to complete in the NRL, Gus is being emotive and not rational. I have no doubt that Suaalii can play both codes at a professional level. Great for the ARU to have such young talent boost their stocks, players switching codes will continue, there are many examples to choose from not just the high profile players such as SBW, RTS, Tuqiri, Sailor, Folau, Rogers etc that is professional sport.
  • So it's ok for League to poach juniors from Union, but when those want to return to Union, Gus has a bit of a grizzle.
  • Seibold is actually a very smart footy head, if he wasn’t a head coach I’d be more than happy to have him be on the show
  • @HM-mw7cg
Young poly kid doing well for himself. You love to see it
  • @wolfs1bane
Gus cant help but come off as extremely bitter in this segment.
  • @MTG776
Well, he started in Rugby and NRL enticed him with some big pay days... Now Rugby have enticed him back... Good for him, Union is an international game on the move. He'll probably end up in France making large amounts .
  • Gallen is exactly right. He’s playing league RIGHT NOW so he should be selected for NSW if he’s good enough. Gus saying he shouldn’t be considered because he’s going next season is just bitterness that he’s chosen the other code.
