Witness recalls moments after teen falls to his death at ICON Park

I just can’t imagine how scared this poor baby was and how his parents are. I can’t even imagine knowing my child passed this way

As a ride operator this hits hard, I care for people’s safety at my rides

He was just a baby. Dont matter how big he was! This child had an entire life infront of him! WHERE WERE THE ADULTS FOR THAT PARK? THEY HAVE A DUTY TO PROTECT KIDS. My heart hurts for him, his family. This DID NOT have to happen!

It's fascinating seeing human psychology play out here. The witness said his first reaction was that it felt like a dream, which is a very common response when one goes into shock.

I feel awful for his family of course, but also for his best friend. I can’t imagine the trauma of watching your best friend fall to his death in this way.

I was a ride operator back in 2001 to a similar drop tower ride, and shoulder harnesses like that which weren't fully closed for large passengers, would trigger an alert on our control panel and stop the ride from launching or moving. We were trained to screen people and inform them they cannot ride if harnesses cant fully close for their safety. This appears to be the ride operator and parks fault, and possibly manufacturer if the ride lacked the proper automated security alerts to prevent the ride from launching in the first place.

i can’t stop thinking about this incident.. i can’t even imagine the fear he must've felt. this should’ve never happened. poor kid had his whole life ahead of him :( rest in peace

This is why I don't go on these type of rides. I've always felt nervous, and this concludes it for me. RIP to Tyre and condolences to his family and friends.

Also, my heart goes out to the witnesses. Just the sound is horrible enough to leave scars on the psyche. What horror!

Why do people feel the need to take pictures of people they see die right before their eyes? Good for him for not spreading around the pictures, but still. The fact that he even took pictures is freaking weird.

I can’t stop thinking about him I cried all last night and the night before thinking about this baby boy and I dropped to my knees this morning and said a prayer. I couldn’t function properly at work because all I can think about was why did this have to happen. Me and my kids were in shock. I know it might seem weird because I didn’t know him personally but seeing that video affected me mentally. I will always have his family in my prayers. Rest peacefully baby boy🙏🏾👼🏽🌹

The fact that the witness said no one ever checked off everyone was good to ride broke my heart

that mom is right. all it took was just that extra second to check, and that poor kid would not have fallen to his death. hold the WORKER ACCOUNTABLE

Such a horror for the child. His last moments of life were pure terror. So sad, and preventable.

The witnesses who were on the ride with this poor boy said point blank, NONE OF THE RIDE OPERATORS came around to check to see if their shoulder harnesses were secured. Unbelievable.

It’s always sad when a person’s fear turns into a reality. My heart goes out to the kids family and witnesses

He’s quite a big guy the bar or harness might not have been closed properly but being a kid he might’ve thought he’d be ok! So tragic.
